A spontaneous unplanned visit turned into one of the tastiest meals I’ve had in London. Luis welcomed us with a big smile and took our orders. There is an instant good vibe at Fumeiro when you walk in. It feels like you’ve stepped off the streets of Porto into a family kitchen with linen table cloths and a Portuguese deli attached. Super unique and friendly.
The house special lamb skewer was one of those dishes you wish went on forever. Large pieces of tasty juicy lamb on a giant skewer fresh off the charcoal. The fresh mint sauce and traditional Portuguese accompaniments left me with a big smile. I would eat this every day if I could! My friend ordered mini steak with egg and fries which went down a treat.
£5 pints of yummy superbock beer and large glasses of delicious Portuguese wine for less than a fiver…prices simply unheard of in London in 2024. But the food is the main star.
