The owners excel themselves with different forms of entertainment and social experiences. Ranging from a peaceful lunch to exciting,busy evening events.

The pub is clean, neat, tidy, comfortable and feels welcoming. A range of different seats from barstools to sofas make this place feel like a large living room. The décor is so "So", one might believe it had the quality of a gay designer - exceptional - without being overtly gay. This is not a "gay" pub - it's better than that.

Set just off a main road, this place feels safe enough to socialise outside the pub too... particularly useful on busy nights such as the monthly "Pie & Mash" event.

I have had the privilege of frequenting the Griffin for many years on business travel from Lancaster so I've seen both the old design and new. Whilst the design and layout are different, perhaps targeting a different group, it still retains the most important features of a pub:

A gem of a place in an unlikely location. There aren't many good options for a quiet pint in Vauxhall, and the Griffin easily claims the crown of the best pub in the area.

Well-kept Doombar is available year-round, together with a rotation of guest ales. Sunday roast is substantial and fairly priced.

Sadly no quiz machine any more, but there is a pool table.
