After Covid 19 Lockdown Review
I'm usually hesitant to go to a kebab shop, remind of all these 90's Greece Kebab shops that pop around london, that smell bad, crease all over, untidy and meat you usually get is cheap imitation. I got to admit the restaurant looks clean tidy has a good appearance inside. However no sit in as, it's take away only. Markers for social distancing, looks out of control and no hand sanitizer available.
The menu it self look tantalising, however it would have been great to have chicken wings on the menu. Side menu didn't tempted so skipped it.
Now the donner sandwich and the Gym box looks popular. I decided to go for the Donner Burger with chips and drinks for a decent price of £6.99. It's good to get an option of Chicken/Beef/Mixed. So I went for the chicken.
First of the chips, nicely cooked, good crunch and excellent texture. They give 3 sauces to go with your chips, chilli, garlic and peri mayo. I got to admit they are freshly made, the chill and garlic sauce all outstanding. Taste so good.
Then the Burger, too sloppy, brioche bun, now it's suits burgers not when you have diced shredded chicken. Does not go well, taste bready. Too much sauce, the sauce is nice, but when you have a soft bun not toasted and chicken slipping off disaster. Guys, don't bring your wife's/girlfriend here, they would not admire you being a sloppy eater.
Chicken, taste silky, I been told it's lean meat. After examining it pretty good. Sauce killed it off. Decently small amount of sliced of lettuce, tomato and onion. The burger it self sloppy messy, sauce suffocate the taste of the meat, just sloppy and bready. Drinks menu, very standard. Being a German Doner Kebab, I would like to see some exclusive soft drinks that you get from Germany, it's Halal, so no alcohol available.
Happy to give these guys another go. Just did not get the wow factor from it. Great Chips and great sauce. Might order the gym box or...
Read moreAbsolutely awful. Started off well, but you soon realise just how bland and tasteless the meat is. This is the McDonald's of kebab shops on a road that is full of better options, including better kebab shops. Been eating here twice a week or so since it opened, but finally had enough of the obnoxious staff and terrible portions.
Last straw was yesterday evening when I ordered a meal that came with fries. Whenever they come with fries, they pile it all into the same box, and the steam from the meat ends up making the fries soggy, so I asked if they could put the fries in a separate container. The obnoxious girl at the till refused, and when I asked why, she just said "company policy". I said, "Wait, it's company policy that you will not simply separate the chips from the meat for my takeaway meal??", "Yep, it's not something we do".
I asked to speak to the manager, who happened to be close by, and he confirmed that I wouldn't be able to have the fries in a different container. I then tried compromising, and asking if, after he's made everything, could he simply tip the fries out of the box into the takeaway bag, and he still refused - all with an obnoxious grin on his face. That's the part I couldn't understand. He was clearly enjoying this weird power-trip. It was just so off-putting.
The final straw came when he said the only way he'd be prepared to do it was if I ordered a different meal and then fries separately - are you serious??
They both smiled at the complete confusion on my face, and I walked out without paying anything and ordered from the kebab shop directly opposite them instead.
I had initially rated this 5 stars, then dropped it to three, then deleted that review and wrote this one instead. This is a classic example of poor staff and management ruining what would otherwise be a mediocre-but-serviceable fast food place.
I'm a few minutes walk from here, but rest assured, I will...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of visiting German Doner Kebab (GDK) in Shepherd’s Bush, and I must say, my experience was made absolutely outstanding thanks to one person in particular – Afsa. From the moment I stepped into the restaurant, I was greeted with warmth and professionalism, and it was clear that Afsa is someone who takes great pride in her work.
Afsa was not only friendly and welcoming, but also incredibly attentive and courteous throughout the entire visit. She served me with genuine kindness, always wearing a smile and ensuring that I had everything I needed. Her approach to customer service is a perfect example of what hospitality should be – thoughtful, patient, and respectful.
What stood out the most was how she managed to create a positive atmosphere not just for me, but for everyone around. I noticed how she treated every customer with the same level of care and enthusiasm. It’s rare to see someone so dedicated to their role, especially in a busy food environment, but Afsa handled it all with such grace and professionalism.
She was efficient and quick with the service, but never rushed. She made me feel valued as a customer, and that kind of attention really makes a difference. Her polite demeanor and hardworking nature deserve to be recognized and appreciated.
I would highly recommend not only visiting this GDK branch in Shepherd’s Bush for its great food, but also for the wonderful customer service – especially if you have the pleasure of being served by Afsa. She truly enhances the experience with her dedication and cheerful personality. GDK is lucky to have someone like her on their team.
In conclusion, if you’re looking for delicious food and excellent service, this is the place to go. Hats off to Afsa – she’s doing an amazing job and deserves every bit of appreciation. Keep up the...
