German Doner Kebab (GDK) — Restaurant in London

Went there this morning and a worker there, possibly the manager but i’m not sure, was quite rude and unwelcoming for no reason. I understand that we came a whole five minutes before the opening time but if that is such an issue then lock the doors and open them as soon as it hits 11:00 but that’s not the point. We went to the self service machines and we weren’t interacting with the workers, all that was ordered was fries and we didn’t bother them at all, we didn’t mind that it would take extra time for us to get our food as they wouldn’t start making it until 11am, that’s fine, we understand that.

But then the worker started getting quite rude and he was very unwelcoming. I don’t care that he said our food won’t be made until 11am, i expected that and understood that but we came in eating other food, sitting down with our receipt for what we ordered at GDK and then he came up to us as if he was a school teacher scolding us and said “by the way next time do not come in and eat food from elsewhere in the shop, that’s not allowed. this time i’ll let you but next time you won’t be allowed.” And I just didn’t understand why that was a massive deal and such an issue, why it required such rudeness and unpleasantness. 1) we wasn’t bothering the workers 2) we had already made our order for GDK. The only one who wanted to eat at GDK was my seven year old, should I just allow a child to sit in and eat by himself in GDK whilst me and his sister stand outside eating our other food??? Makes no sense whatsoever. I’ve come into GDK and seen families where some of them are eating GDK and some aren’t and it’s never been an issue.

He gave the example “well you wouldn’t go and eat fish and chips in a chinese shop.” What does that have to do with anything? Yeah of course I wouldn’t but that’s not comparable as we came into GDK so my 7 year old could eat and wouldn’t have...

Subject: Formal Complaint Regarding Unprofessional Conduct by Staff

I am writing to formally express my concerns about a recent experience with one of your staff members who identified himself as the general manager. This individual’s conduct was not only unprofessional but also displayed a level of disrespect toward delivery personnel that I believe could impact the restaurant’s reputation and customer service quality.

During my visit on [29th of October, 8pm], I observed this staff member engaging with delivery drivers in a discourteous and dismissive manner. Rather than providing guidance or assistance, he was abrasive and unwelcoming, going so far as to tell drivers not to come to the restaurant to pick up orders. He insisted that, while he was present, he would not allow deliveries to be picked up, thereby obstructing the flow of service and potentially delaying orders to customers.

This attitude toward the delivery staff reflects poorly on the restaurant and detracts from the respectful, professional atmosphere that customers and partners expect from a reputable establishment. Additionally, as a regular patron, I am disappointed to see behavior that can disrupt the relationship between the restaurant and its essential delivery services.

I respectfully request that this incident be reviewed and that appropriate measures be taken to address this behavior. Consistent, courteous customer and partner interactions are crucial, and I hope to see improved conduct in the future.

I've been coming here since it opened. In the early days, I used to eat the kabab wrap and then rice meal was introduced to the menu compromising (1) tasty rice (2) mixed kebab (my choice) and salad of lettuce, onion, tomato, red cabbage but with no salad cream or even mayonnaise.

On the side, I always eat the plain chips which always comes almost cold despite requesting for it to be temperature hot. I remember going back to the till and asking for the chips to be fried again until crunchy. In addition, the rice and kebab tends to be served lukewarm. I'm a very slow eater so requires my food to be hot (very warm).

I come here at least once a week just to treat myself and I quite enjoy my visit apart from the almost cold food.

As for the staff, they are attentive, friendly and friendly. The food is prepared in the open so you can see exactly what you're been served.

Portion wise, the box rice meal is the right portion for me but that could be because of the chips I eat with it.
