Last night, my friend and I decided to visit Wembley Central German Doner Kebab (GDK) for dinner. Unfortunately, what was supposed to be a casual and enjoyable outing turned into one of the worst customer service experiences we’ve ever had. We feel compelled to share this review so others can be aware of the poor standards we encountered.
To begin with, we placed an order for our food (we won’t name the specific item to keep this general), and politely requested for it to be cut into two pieces, as we often do when we share meals. To our surprise, the lady at the counter refused our request. She told us bluntly that cutting the item into two was against their menu policy and not allowed as per company rules. This came as a shock because just two days earlier, we had ordered the exact same item at the same branch and they had happily accommodated our request. It felt completely inconsistent and unreasonable.
When we asked why the same request was granted two days ago, she became defensive and simply repeated that it was against the rules. Frustrated, we asked for a refund since our simple request was being denied. Her response was even more shocking — she said she couldn’t process a refund because the manager wasn’t present. When we tried to reason with her, she raised her voice at us in an unprofessional and disrespectful manner.
In the middle of the argument, my friend questioned how a business can operate without a manager on-site. At that point, a man came from the back, claiming to be the manager — his name was Dinesh. He offered a refund but gave it to us in cash, even though we had paid by card. This raised further concerns about their handling of transactions and made the situation feel even more unprofessional.
What made things worse was when we asked the lady for her name so we could file a complaint — she refused to tell us. Not only did she lack basic customer service skills, but she was also unwilling to be accountable for her behaviour. Even more concerning was that she used a local language during the argument, which made us feel excluded and uncomfortable.
To top it all off, she printed a receipt and asked for a signature, which we found extremely unusual. We’ve visited many restaurants, including GDK branches before, and never once have we been asked to sign a receipt for a regular food order. It felt like they were trying to cover themselves or document something unnecessarily, which added to our discomfort and suspicion.
Overall, this visit was incredibly disappointing. The staff was rude, inconsistent, and lacked basic respect for customers. GDK seriously needs to train their employees better, especially when it comes to dealing with customer requests and complaints. We will not be returning to this location and strongly advise others to be cautious...

The staff member's attitude was unhelpful and rude, and I was surprised to learn that the manager wasn't on-site. When I requested a refund, I was given cash instead of processing it through the original payment method.
I asked the staff member for her name, but she refused, which seemed unprofessional. She presented with a refund paper for signature, I expressed my surprise as I hadn't encountered this practice before. She mentioned, they can't issue me refund without signing on the paper.
Later, a guy came out of the Kitchen and said I am the manager named Danesh intervened and processed the refund by cash. However, his comment that they "usually" don't give refunds made me feel like I was doing them a favor by accepting the refund.
I have documented evidence of the incident, including videos and photos. I'm seeking resolution and concerned about the staff's behavior, particularly the rude treatment by the staff member (lady). A formal apology and review of staff conduct would be appreciated. And She didn't apologise...

When I entered the store I booked my food via the machine once I ordered the food I reserved the table and placed the table number holder on my table. I was waiting to use the toilet one of the staff member told me someone is in there after waiting 10mins the other staff informed me that it is not working I was angry because I was waiting outside a door which was not going to open! I told the staff member that I will go to the store across the road and use the table but please don’t give my table to anyone she said no problem also I left the holder on top of the table which mean it is reserved. Once I came back she already gave my table to someone else I was so angry because before I went to use the toilet outside I told home please don’t give my table to anyone she said don’t worry I won’t. So I had to seat near the toilet and once the food came it was cold. After being treated so badly I asked her for some chill sauce she said to me you have to pay and I laughed so badly because if you treated a customer so badly you should try to provider a better service to make the customer happy after being treated badly.
