Piña colada to die for! Having stopped going to our local Turkish restaurant in Leytonstone we decided on walking up the road to sample Gezi Park. And were we glad we did! We had our drinks order taken promptly and complimentary bread, olives and dips served. The service and décor tasteful and pleasant. Our main was beautifully cooked, we ordered a mixed grill which had rice and salad. The rice portion was ample and salad was far more superior than we've been accustomed to with pomegranate drizzle and pomegranate fruit. The meat was grilled to perfection with the meat juicy and tender with skin crisped. Then the icing on top of the cake being my Piña colada. Different establishments serve them differently. Gezi's is minus the cream/froth and HEAVY on the rum, which is DELICIOUS and how I make my drinks at home. I can see that this is going to be my new favourite place to go, purely for the drinks. I would pop in for a drink and nibbles and not necessarily just to eat so it's nice to have the option.

Not bad. But not great either. The starter (hot Turkish meze) was just food items (not too dissimilar from a supermarket party kit) fried in deep fat, it came with sauces but on the whole was dry, lacking taste and very stodgy. The main dish I ordered (lamb ribs) was again dry, quite salty and lacking any flavour. The rice generally greasy. The best thing about the whole meal was the fresh salad prepared. The cocktails were good. Overall it filled a hole. But its low value & quality, and overpriced in comparison to other places of this type: £25 for a Shish kebab with rice seemed a bit steep.

Thought we would give Gezi Park a try and popped in for a quick bite. I had the Adana Kofte and my partner had the Adana kofte and lamb shish. Both served with rice and salad. We didn't have a starter but they brought out bread, olives, Chilli sauce and a garlic sauce. I also had a glass of the Turkish wine, which was quite nice. Food was flavorful although I didn't like the salad but service was good and we will return.

Terrible for anyone with allergies, staff need more training, its very dangerous in this day and age for the server not to understand. Very disappointing. Even when being extremely specific about gluten and dairy (due to coeliac disease) food still came out on bread with rice and cracked wheat. They exchanged it for salad and meat but had just taken the meat off the bread from the first dish which is also unexceptable for someone with coeliac disease. Third plate seemed ok, I found it so hard to enjoy any food after that, worrying that im going to get a really server reaction, when they have got it so wrong even after explaining as clearly as possible. You lose trust in what they bring out. Also fyi i know a set menu is set for reasons but obviously i couldn't have any of the desserts and simply asked for a black coffee(surely cheaper than any dessert) and it was a flat no. Considering they almost poisoned me you would have thought it would be the least they could do, but no that is the level of service...

On the plus side this restaurant was excellent in its atmosphere and decor. We arrived on Saturday afternoon for a treat for my mum who hasn't been out lately due to ill health So we were looking forward to taking her to a lovely place for good food. Now overall the food was really nice and we have no complaints on that side to be perfectly honest. What I have an issue with is the fact that the both girl waitresses seemy to like spending most of their time gazing out of the window when they should be a little more attentive to paying customers. On 3 separate occasions I wanted some service and almost had to shout to get her attention which I found to be very unprofessional and poor..also because of this I decided not to pay the service charge which was nearly £7.and I hasten to add was not stated was a compulsory charge which makes it un-inforceable. I told the waiter this and he wasn't best pleased but that was my decision and that was it So overall a lovely restaurant but service needs a vast...
