All the reasons why I had a very bad experience, why I would never go there and caution anybody considering going there
Very rude response from all the staff expect for one new recruit, the new recruit was very humble, but even if he came to serve us, he was overpowered by the other staff whom I am assuming that they work there, because after I had a bad experience at this place, I read many reviews and everybody said that the customer experience is bad
There is this rule with dumpling which I found to be very weird, in the very first go you have to order as many dumpling dishes as you want, if you taste something and like it, you cannot order more after that. (what is the point in running a place where a customer likes something you make but you do not serve it?)
Because of point number 2 we ordered 6 different dumpling dishes, of which 2 of them were never served to us because they forgot. We were waiting for the 2 dishes thinking it is in the making, but throughout our wait time, we were treated as if they were letting us sit on the table like they were giving us shelter for charity, while the 2 rude staff kept asking us why we were not eating anything, we said that we were waiting for those dishes. Yet it never arrived.
4.Because we thought that the kitchen was very busy and it might take time, we went ahead and ordered a main course. The main course arrived but the 2 dumpling dishes did not arrive. We ordered another main course, and the dumplings came along with the main course. All this while we were being treated like we were wasting their time, but it was them who were wasting our time.
When we told them that the 2 dumpling dishes arrived late, the rude staff literally asked "Do you want it or not?". We were being treated like we made mistake in ordering the dishes, while it was actually them who wasted our time and treated like they were doing us charity.
Topping all of this, there was the gratuity bill along with the bill. Gratuity for being treated like I was receiving charity food from them.
Neither is the taste of the food, nor the portion size was worth enduring the rude treatment from the staff. Ended up walking out of the place...
Read moreFound this restaurant by luck. Since we missed the main event of the Chinese new year, we did a catch up the following weekend to celebrate it. Who would have thought that every single restaurant in China town is fully booked then there would be a waitinglist/time of approx avtage 30min - 1 hour.
We saw this restaurant had few people waiting and when we asked about the waiting time it was approx 10 - 15min. In less than 10 min we got in. Don't let be fooled by size of the restaurant, if you judge by the door and the window, don't cus it has 3 floors.
To order is simple; you have the menu in front of you which is divided in boxes.on the menu, In the empty box infront of the dishes , you add the number of that dish you want.
NOW - this part it's tricky and you need to pay ATTENTION! The restaurant has a single policy and it's only one ordering. Meaning you only get one order and your are finished. So if your hungry make sure you order enough food.. The reason behind it it's because they are busy over the weekend and avoid longer waiting time. I mean business wise I understand but as a customer, hungry customer it's annoying.
The location is central and easy to find, The food is delicious and there are mix of dim sum selections ,however, I wish there was more option with no pork in the food. Remember they don't only serve dim sum but they have a huge dishes to select from which has a decent price tag on it. With our dim sum we had jasmin tea which was alright, did lack a bit of flavour but otherwise it was alright. Good dim sum 👍
Staff are very professional and helpful. I tried to sweet talk on of the staff to give us a second round. I was almost managed to convenience her if her colleague walked passed and said something. She wanted to help but couldn't do anything with the policy.
I enjoyed this place and if you do get a table on the other floor, you might walk past a pay phone which is a blast from the past.
Regretted that I didn't manged to try steamed buns with custard. I'll be back...
Read moreShockingly bad service, like something out of a dark comedy so bad. My mother and I are sweet people very patient and not very assertive not the type to complain, the waitresses were so hostile it was intimidating, we had ordered a simple set vegetarian meal, the food was nothing complicated it took forever, they didn't even bring us a glass of water despite us asking twice. The one lady started mocking my mother i dont know if she misunderstood my mother's accent and took offence but she rolled her eyes and startled mocking her. I've never seen anything like this. It was so bad I was actually laughing, at that stage when that happened we had already had our appetisers so when I asked mom if we should leave she said no. We couldn't. We saw people arrive after us at 2 tables get there food first. Eventually after an hour the vegetarian set menu came and it was cold and looked like a dogs dinner, no effort to present it nice and it didn't match the menu, it was inedible, we just had the fried rice paid and left. It was last Saturday night the 21st of Jan. I had read good reviews but I dont know why they are so. Vastly different than our experience. It was as expensive as anywhere else in. LONDON so the food was not cheap. I get its stressful to be busy but the restaurant was not super busy it was normal busy, I work as a nurse and no matter how stressful I would never be hostile or mean to my pts so I don't understand that type of behavior. It's upsetting to watch your mother be disrespected for no reason. We gave them no reason to be hostile to us and even worse the food on the set memory was of terrible quality, you'd get nicer Chinese food in a chipper/takeaway shop. Shame on you for treating people so badly and charging money for cold, late rubbish food. Would you serve that to your own family? I don't think so, I hope people read this and don't support/give money to...
