This was our first time visiting Honey and Co and it turned out to be a very good experience. This stylish , modern restaurant serves amazing Middle Eastern food that will leave your palate dancing with joy. There is also a lovely friendly atmosphere which is generated from the staff who look after you from the moment you arrive until you depart.
The restaurant is situated on Lamb’s Conduit Street a buzzy little area in between Chancery Lane and Russell Square tube stations. We entered and received a nice welcome before being seated at our table. Once comfortable we took a look around where you could see the restaurant was separated into sections and the tables were nicely spaced apart. There was also tables around the outside and counter dining inside for walk ins.
We then looked at the menu which is set out in small and large plates plus a separate dessert menu and gives you the freedom to choose what and how many dishes you want depending on how long you have or how hungry you are. There was also our choice which was the sharing menu where you had a Meze selection to share , a choice of a main course and a dessert. This was priced at only £55 per person and was not hard to see why it was very popular on the day. To accompany our food we ordered a fabulous Thymiopoulos Rose de Xinomavro 2021 from Greece with its orange/rosé colour and light strawberry notes was an absolute delight.
We started with a Meze to share. This was a selection of all the small plates. This is a great idea as you don’t feel light your missing out on something and gives you the chance to choose your favourite when you return. The flavours of each little dish were amazing and you really felt like you were in the Middle East. Bread selection – pitta, milk bun, sesame bread & Greek olive oil Snack plate – house pickles, herby bureka, olives, crudites & tahini Creamy hummus, marinated chilli garlic chickpeas, pitta Aubergine & tomato salad, red onion, fresh herbs & chilli Luxor style falafel with lemony cabbage & parsley salad, tahini Labaneh, fried artichokes, pine nuts & sumac Spring salad – asparagus, broad beans, dill, lemon saffron dressing & dukkah. ( see pic below ).
We then moved onto the main course where you had to choose one dish each. My wife opted for the Balkan Kofta - beef and kashkaval cheese kofta with peppers , tomatoes and garlic yoghurt. For myself I went for the Chicken marinated in sweet garlic , feta cream , pea and fennel salad that I have to say with hand on heart was absolutely stunning and I would defy anyone to better it. The Kofta was also amazing.
We then moved on to Dessert where the waitress explained that a lot of people can’t manage one so they price the sharing menu with or without dessert. This wasn’t going to be a problem for us so we ordered the Warm Apricot and Hazelnut Cake and the Feta and Honey Cheesecake with a kadaif pastry base. These desserts were absolute heaven and a fantastic way to finish an excellent dining experience.
We finished with a coffee to bring to an end a fabulous lunch of exquisite middle eastern food. This was matched by excellent friendly service that made our whole experience one to remember and to be honest I really can’t wait to return. So yes I would highly recommend a visit even if you’re passing by and don’t have much time because believe once you try their food you will be back.
Thank You all for a fabulous lunch and look forward to seeing you...

Firstly, i found this restaurant because its around my area and it received the michelin plate award. I was like wow not bad maybe i should try it since michelin gave this as a recommendation. Overall, the dinner experience was just okay in my opinion. The appetizer costed around £11 each; the main dish costed around £22 each; the dessert costed £8 each. Nevertheless, for it to be worth, i got the set menu, which consists of the appetizer, the main dish and the dessert, with the price of £39, and you can opt out the dessert to deduct the price to £34. By looking from the outside and judging the $$ sign from google, i did not expect the food to be this expensive. So let's dive into it.
Appetizer: The appetizer consists of different small appetizer middle eastern food that allows you to try different range of the middle eastern food. Some of the appetizer are quite good and some are not. Trust me i have tried a lot of middle eastern food to know which one is good.
Main: The main was just below okay in my opinion. This is when i know the chefs are really trying so hard to make the dish beautiful and to be creative. I got the lamb and the aubergine. I am so sorry chef but you are really trying too hard please do not try to hard because you are actually ruining the dish that was perfectly better. Adding pomegranate does not make the dish more beautiful and perfectly ruin the food chef. You are ruining the taste. Pomegranate does not fit with lamb and aubergine.
Dessert: This is what made me turn around from getting two stars to three stars. I got the cheesecake. In my opinion, the feta cheesecake was super amazing. It is not easy to make me like dessert, and it was not easy to make feta cheesecake since i have tried a lot of scaled up restaurants who have ruined this. Nonetheless, if the chef was not trying to be over creative, i would easily give this a four stars since the cheesecake was super good. Using marjarom gives the cheesecake a bitter taste, and using blueberry gives the cheesecake a sour taste. Do not be over creative trying to mix all flavours for dessert please. A dessert is called to clean your mouth for a reason. I'd recommend changing your blueberry to the sweet blueberry and the marjarom with mint leaves so that they would blend more perfectly. I hope you hear this advice if you want to be better, but if you think you are the best well good for you.
Summary: Overall, the overall experience was just okay. My waiter, Guilherme, has been very helpful though props to him for the lovely service. Nevertheless, the experience was too overpriced and not worth it. Furthermore, if you want to keep your status as a good restaurant, please reply to all your reviewers. You will thank me later. Nonetheless, I would only recommend people to come here for the cheesecake and nothing else, and if they hear me out fixing the cheesecake, maybe i will go back in the future. Cheers! I hope you guys listen, and i hope this...
Read moreA friend previously recommended their sister branch (Honey & Smoke) so that's how I came to find out about this branch. It's been on my list for a while so I thought I would finally make a visit this weekend.
We made a reservation beforehand and I was happy we did because it got so busy right after we were seated. Within 20 minutes the entire place was full! So one big tip is to definitely book at least a week in advance because it's obviously a very popular restaurant.
We weren't sure how much to order so we asked the waiter for advice and he was really patient to explain and recommended us to get either 3 starters and 1 main or 2 starters and 2 mains depending on your appetite. I personally thought the portions of the starters were quite generous. We went with the hummus (came with pita), aubergine and tomato salad, muhammara as the 3 starters and the prawns matbucha as main.
If I am being honest, I wasn't particularly impressed with the food. It was all tasty but nothing significantly stood out to me. I thought the hummus was good but not as nutty as I usually prefer it. I preferred the one from Imad's Syrian Kitchen but I do understand different Middle Eastern countries do their hummus differently so it's just a matter of personal preference I suppose. Salad was refreshing but again it wasn't phenomenal. I also thought the prawns matbucha was a little bland. On menu it's stated to be a stew but it definitely didn't have the texture or consistency of a stew. It was watery and the taste was very mild.
This is just my personal honest opinion and I understand I may not have tried enough Middle Eastern restaurants to be an expert in the cuisine of this region.
Service on the other hand though was great. The waiter who served us was friendly and attentive. One big down side for me apart from the food was how pricey it was. We each paid almost £40 for 4 dishes, bearing in mind 3 of them were starters, plus one coffee and one tea. It's definitely not a cheap eat or anywhere near the "affordable" category of price range. I suppose it's more of a once in a while occasion. Although I have to say the interior design and vibes were really chill...
