Always been meaning to try Honi Poke since it opened as it always provided us with something to watch from Beer Hawk opposite. Seemed quite busy even in the evening with a constant stream of delivery riders, so on a warm summer's evening we decided to try it. We both went for the Honi Poke which has a sushi rice base. The toppings were 2 scoops of salmon then some mango, edamame, pickled cucumber, sesame seeds. We asked to change the fried onions for chilli and were given a very generous amount! I also asked if I could swap my rice for the veg slaw base and this was no problem. Everything looked very fresh. A choice of soft drinks was also available in the chiller cabinet. Service was friendly and efficient. Wooden cutlery is provided. There is some table seating inside and plenty of seating outside. The flavours were refreshing and worked well together - very tasty. Read moreFirst visit and first encounter of the poke bowls. Staff was helpful and guided us through the ordering process. We had 50/50 salmon/tuna ahi poke in sushi rice and sriracha mayo in brown rice. We enjoyed the ahi poke. The brown rice on the sriracha poke was slightly undercooked. It was quiet at the time of our visit, albeit too warm indoors. They have a portable air cooling system, but with entrance doors open, it didn't really help. The salmon and tuna containers had lids on to keep the temperatures cool, and the sliced carrots looked dry. There is a toilet for customers only. It needed a bit of cleaning at the time of our visit. We would like to come back and have another go, with the hope of giving...
Read moreAverage poke bowls that are mostly rice, with other ingredients that didn’t seem fresh or great in quality. I had the tofu and the Scottish salmon, which were decent portions, but the bowl was still mostly rice with fewer toppings than expected. They were also out of some core items like nori. I found the staff slightly unhelpful when I was building my own bowl and asking for recommendations—they forgot to provide or tell me where the cutlery was, and when I went back to ask, they ignored me. To be fair, they were busy, so I just moved on. Overall, I think there are better spots to visit...
