I happened to find this place accidentally as I was on my way to Bombay Wok. The name caught my attention and decided I wanted to try out the biryani. Parked at the nearby Retail complex and made my way there.
The restaurant looks newish and clean. I ordered the hyderabadi chicken dum biryani. It was delicious and the portion size was very good. The biryani was perfectly spiced and the chicken tender. I couldn’t believe the reasonable prices but then I then I live in a pricier part of England. So there’s that. I also had the masala tea which was again very good. I was so happy with the food, that I packed up 6-7 dishes as takeaway. All of them taste good and I am looking forward to having them over the next couple of days.
I read through the other reviews just now before writing mine. People seem to have wildly different experiences which is a bit surprising. To be fair, I didn’t try the Chinese style items which some of them complained about. The raita with the biryani was a let down as it was just watery yoghurt instead of the proper raita with yoghurt, chopped cucumber, tomatoes, onions, etc. So there’s definitely some room for improvement there.
One suggestion I have is that the food be covered with cling film for hygiene purposes (especially the food kept outside the glass stand. Also, hopefully the chef will take into consideration the other reviews and improve on the taste, hygiene practices with regards to food preparation, etc. The prices are fantastic for the quantity of food provided and I wish the restaurant all the best and look forward to...
Read moreHyderabad is famous for its authentic biryani, known for its rich flavors and spices, so I had high hopes when ordering from a restaurant named Hyderabad Bawarchi. However, my experience was deeply disappointing.
After a long and tiring trip, we decided to pre-order our meal, expecting a quick and satisfying dinner on our way home. We were assured that the food would be ready by the time we arrived, but when we got there, we were told it would take longer. Despite the extra wait, the food we received was far from what we anticipated.
The Chicken 65 tasted more like a chicken curry, completely lacking the distinctive flavor and texture it should have. The egg fried rice was simply biryani rice mixed with burnt egg, with no proper seasoning. The lamb biryani was even worse, with undercooked, almost raw meat. The mandi, which should have been flavorful, was just red rice with chili powder sprinkled on top.
To make matters worse, essential accompaniments like salad, raita, and dry fruits were missing. The paper plates provided were soaked through with curry and tore apart, making the meal even more unpleasant.
Overall, the food was inedible, and the experience was far below expectations, especially for a restaurant bearing the name Hyderabad Bawarchi. I would not recommend this place based on...
Read moreWe had the worst experience at Hyderabad Bawarchi as we were wrapping up our trip. We were looking forward to enjoying some authentic Hyderabad-style food on our way back and pre-ordered an hour in advance, specifying the items we wanted. However, when we arrived at the restaurant, they told us the food was only 70% ready. Despite our hungry faces, they made us wait another 45 minutes before we received our first dish.
Unfortunately, the food was a huge letdown. Not a single item was good. The Chicken 65 was more like a chicken gravy curry—I’ve never encountered a Chicken 65 like this in my life. The biryanis, whether chicken or lamb, were half-cooked, with visible red flesh. We were drawn in by the website’s pictures of mandi, but what we got was essentially chili rice with salt—nothing like what was advertised. We couldn’t eat any of it.
The photos on their website are completely fake, and they’re misleading customers with false promotions. The restaurant’s tagline is “where taste matters,” but there was no taste in the food they served. The name doesn’t live up to the quality.
I’m really sorry to leave this review, but after traveling a long distance, we were hoping to end our trip with a nice meal. Instead, we were left disappointed and frustrated by the...
