It was the first night of a long working week in London. I myself had spent all day locked away in a broom cupboard awaiting my chance to be mauled by an angry customer but to no avail.
Unfortunately other members of my team where not as lucky. Tired by a hard days work of taking meeting minutes and fighting IT bought from the lowest bidder, we needed a quick eat close to the hotel.
I picked this fine establishment, hastily, to stop indecision from gripping the team and sending us to a normal plastic Italian (looking at you prezzo).
After a google maps sponsored tour of the back of the building we finally made it into the restaurant. It was very authentic with simple wooden tables and chairs on a tiled floor. The staff, all genuine Italians, welcomed us warmly and seated 9 people instantly.
It was a great meal with everyone really satisfied with what they had. The food was obviously fresh unlike some of the more insane reviews on here, glue sniffing is obviously more endemic that i realised, just say no kids. Myself and several of my colleagues have been to Italy several times and it was all genuine fodder. It was also frequented by other Italians which is a true sign of quality.
The only small issues we had were: They didn't have non alcoholic beer, which to be honest is good thing as non alcoholic beer is as pointless as nipples on a mans chest, One of the starters was a little late, but the recipient was a special constable so that's OK. And finally one of our colleagues asked for a glass of warm water with his espresso which didn't come. To be honest this is also OK as this kind of insanity should not be tolerated in an Italian restaurant. He should have been thrown out for trying to sully the fine name of espresso. The guy asking was also Mr "non alcoholic" beer so there's no pleasing some people.
Tldr version great genuine Italian restaurant with zero messing around. Eat...
Read moreDon't get trapped in there! I felt like a sheep pushed into herd. Table very small and no space between them, the waiter had to move them for us to get in , and move it again, so I was blocked there for 30 min, I was embarrass to disturbe 5 people around me to move the tables and go for the toilet(I'm not sure they had one). I couldn't have a private conversation with my boyfriend, and everytime we spoke our common question was Whattt? Is impossible to hear something when in the left and right you have people speaking. The food: I had a starter gamberoni alla diavola, just the prawns were ok,the sauce tasted the same as the can tomato sauce, didnt feel any diavola, and they didnt bothered to use authentic italian bread or fresh pieces, they were some toasted remains from the day before probably. My boyfriend had Canelloni al forno, in description they should be filled with minced beef, but the meat was just 20% of the filling, the cheese sauce gratinee was in fact sauce bechamel. Parmesan should be given at any pasta meal, to be on the table, but no. The lady next to me had pasta and she asked some parmesan, the waiter came and trow some parmesan like he was feeding grains to chicken(I mean messy and to much) THE AMOUNT OF PARMESAN SHOULD BE THE CLIENT'S CHOICE. From the moment he heard our order, 1 beer, 1 cola, 1 starter, 1 main, the waiter's face change immediately and everything speed up like" let's get rid of them" cause we didnt order wine and expensive meals. Sorry, but I didn't feel comfortable and didnt enjoy your...

I humbly and kindly suggested other table to be sat, however I was rudely and a bad manner told to sit in the middle of the restaurant in a really small table, which really dont mind, but it was just the way the waiter in his 40s said it... I immediately wanted to leave the place.. I felt scolded...
In addition, there was a pressure and hurry to select the menu...
And on top of the cake, since I didn't feel welcome or well treated, I denied to pay the handwritten service charge amount added manually for an awful service!!! The same waiter said why are not you going to pay? And he again rudely put the menu on my table aggressively and said "as you can see here is 10% of service charge, we are not lying" I was speechless because he didn't ask the normal hospitality question " is there anything that you didn't like? Did you enjoy your food? Was there something you didnt feel right? I'd happy to know about your experience, since we aim to provide a good service... NOTHING. Not sense of hospitality in order to make it right.
YES! I finally paid the service charge I literally was forced, even though I know is not mandatory... I believe the angry waiter which does not have any idea in how to make a customer welcome, arruined my nice pasta too.
As a result: I will never...
