I remember writing a review for this hotel which gained over 62,000 views. I came here to visit again.
I have stayed at this hotel previously as it has the basic and essential hotel amenties as you would expect in any common hotels in any country. Should you require more, please do not hestitate to ask the reception desk (i.e. ironing board, room service, etc).
As we are still in the pandemic situation, expect to be limited services and staff and generally people booking. It is expected that there is no room service available or provide frequent service during these challenging times.
Due to the location being nearby London Victoria station and area, this should not be a concern for those intending to adventure and explore London area. However, if you are planning to stay and spend most of your time in the hotel, then I recommend buying a bulk of take-out food for convienence.
For cleanliness, as usual, the cleaners are doing deep clean. Although in this stay, I noticed a towel which had a dirt/stain that can only be seen if you shine it under a bright white light. This is not visible or clear to the human eye unless you look carefully. I recommend that the towels to be thoroughly cleaned in their cycles or ideally just remove those towel altogether. I understand the purpose of putting more towels in laundry for washing cycle but some areas are not or have not been cleaned properly leaving this stain. In other words, aged-towel should be removed.
Nevertheless, the staff are welcoming and friendly. Expect to be limited staff, new staff being trained and not many requests given to them as before. They will be at the reception desk should you need additional or further services/requests. They will respond and try their best to accomodate it.
For this stay, there were no small snack available in the room as you would expect with water, coffee or tea.
Overall, I would still stay again but I do recommend for inspection to see on the towels for full/thorough cleanliness. More so, during these challenging times. If it means saving money for a few overused towel, it is not worth to reuse, particularly in rooms where people are planning to stay. This is my experience...
Read moreI have stayed at this property several times now. Overall, the experience has been hit or miss. While many staff members are kind and professional, there are inconsistencies that make the stay less enjoyable.
A gentleman, who I’ve noticed mostly works the night shift, recognized me as a returning guest, which I thought was a very nice touch. The hotel offers free wine and cheese for their members, so I asked if I could have a glass of wine. However, a staff member loudly replied, “No, no, no—you have to pay; you booked through Booking.com.” While I didn’t mind paying for the glass of wine (as I always have), the response felt unnecessarily abrupt and unkind. I think the hotel should better recognize and appreciate their loyal, returning guests, regardless of how they book.
This was particularly frustrating because I had initially tried to book directly through the hotel’s website but encountered repeated payment issues. As a result, I used Booking.com, even though the price was higher than the hotel’s advertised rates. While I understand the hotel incurs commission fees for third-party bookings, guests should be treated equally. Offering a courtesy one night and denying it the next feels inconsistent.
That said, I want to commend the gentleman working the night shift during my stay—he was extremely kind, friendly, and professional. The lady at check-in was also courteous. Unfortunately, some other staff members on different shifts were rude, unfriendly, and unwilling to assist, which was disappointing.
The property itself is suitable for short stays, especially for solo travelers, but there are maintenance issues that need attention, and the quality of the rooms varies. For example, the second-floor room I stayed in previously was great, but this time, my room didn’t even have a desk, making it difficult to work.
I hope this feedback helps management address these issues, particularly with staff training, to ensure all guests are treated with respect and...
Read moreI completely loved this hotel for what turned out to be a 9-day solo stay in London. The staff, like everyone of them, were above and beyond helpful and kind. I was so impressed with them. I felt well taken care of with them. Room: I had a double room with window in the second floor. It was tiny but perfectly planned for the space. I never heard neighbors, but I do use a fan app on my phone while sleeping. Drawers to unpack and space under the bed to tuck away my suitcases. Hooks on door with hangers. No closet. Windowsill for shelf space. Desk with sliding bench. Great WiFi. Comfortable enough bed. Good water and pressure. Kettle, coffee and tea in-room. Location: Literally across the street from Victoria train station, and only a block or so from Victoria Coach Station which is the bus station. One of my day trips with a Evans Tour company departed from the coach station. All of the city hop on and off tour busses have stops right outside. Very short walk to Buckingham Palace and Westminster Abbey. Like less than 20 minutes. 40ish minute walk from Trafalgar Square, British Museum, etc. Pimlico Launderette is a 13 minute walk if needed The hotel has a few menu items that are good if you want to just eat there, but there is also a pub next door and grocery store options within a block. Victoria Station is like a mall with fast food less expensive options as well. McDonald’s, etc.
This was my first time in London and this was a perfect location for my visit. I felt very safe and it’s proximity to all transportation needs made it easy to acclimate and get the hang of being there. The staff were the cherry on the top. Truly kind and helpful. I’m not sure how two people would manage in a double room, but if you travel super light it could be doable to keep your cost down and be in a great location....
