This review is for Butchies - Buttermilk Fried Chicken which is ABSOLUTELY hands down the WORST £11 spent on TASTELESS so called "Fried buttermilk chicken tenders"!!!
The person who prepared the chicken clearly does not taste the food! As there was ZERO taste!! I mean Zero Salt! , ZERO pepper! it tasted of absolutely NOTHING!
There was also an unpleasant texture to the chicken, I can only describe as too soft as if it was not fresh or pre-boiled and left aside prior to being assaulted with flour and a fryer!
All I can say to the person who prepared this is and the owners is - google a recipe for REAL buttermilk chicken taking note that there should be the addition of mustard, salt, pepper etc added to the flour for FLAVOUR!! And while there google a recipe for REAL buffalo sauce from places like Meatliquor! (Sauces are an additional cost between £1-2!)
It was unfortunate that I was with friends discussing a very sensitive topic, so I was unable/unwilling to create a scene to disturb the conversation to go back to the kiosk/server and complain about the food or take a photo. I now fully regret that I didn't!
PLEASE, PLEASE Save yourself the unpleasantness to your tastebuds and either throw your hard earned £12 (Gross in the attached bill sums up the meal!) directly in the bin or go elsewhere! My local Morley’s does better chicken than this at a fraction of the price!!
Market Halls NEVER AGAIN. The quality of food preparation is SUBPAR!! This place was...

They have a variety of cuisines from American, Mexican, Malaysian, you name it! I was mainly intrigued by the offerings upstairs as it was a lot more vibrant in terms of lighting!
Couldn’t pass on Gopal’s corner as it’s the sister company of Roti King! We all know Roti King is the best of the best for Malaysian food especially their roti canai! We got their chicken one and that roti was so buttery and flakey, I could eat it on its own. However the chicken were served in big chunks making it hard to eat with the roti together. I’d recommend using smaller cuts and thighs work best to avoid dry texture.
The DF tacos caught my eyes were their red and white aesthetic! Got their lovely lunch meal deal that comes with 2 tacos, 1 side, and drink! The beef chimichurri taco was out of this world with such bold flavors and that cilantro acidity kicked it off! The other chicken taco was quite nice and was like a fusion, but not as great as the previous. The horchata was disappointing! Tasted so diluted and pre-mix which I do not approve! I asked them to replace it and they kindly did so with another drink (their passion fruit) which was also...
Read moreGreat idea to have so many food options in one location but because it’s so small and crowded nonstop, the staff is cranky and curt. There is little seating and seats are crammed together. We shared a table with strangers and we had to get up when their food was ready because there was no room between tables— huge fire code red flag.
As others have noted the noise level is as loud as it gets and it’s unpleasant. You can’t hear yourself think let alone have a conversation. Be prepared to scream and say,”What?” the entire time.
I had the Malaysian food which was nicely served on a banana leaf but the cashier was extremely rude and made the experience unpleasant. The chicken was very dry and ruined the meal, the portion of Basmati rice was huge, the bean sides were savory and pungent, but overall I didn’t like the food and wouldn’t get it again. The pappadoms had no sauce in which to dip like chutney so I didn’t eat them and used the sauce with the beans to eat the dry rice.
I wanted the NY Deli bagel and lox but they were sold out of bagels And chopped liver. Not good planning on their part to run out on a weekend during lunchtime.
I wouldn’t go out if my way to return but if I’m u the area (or if one works near there), I’d get...
