My partner and I went for dinner on Sunday evening.
Food was pretty good, a lil average for the pricing tbh. But meat was cooked to perfection and their crispy prawns were on point. But, the service ? I do not know whether we were experiencing racism… in a place like London I get shocked every time it happens to me. As an asian individual, I don’t stick to my own cuisine, hence why my partner and I decided to go try Brazilian food.
Even the Uber drivers were looking at us weirdly. The boy who served us gave 0 service. Please tell me why we had to ask for fork and knife, plates. When this should be provided considering we were the only people in the restaurant. He purposely ignored me trying to get his attention for a straw. I was waving and he saw me yet chose to ignore? My partner had to go up and get the straw himself. At which point, the boy walked away into then kitchen, as if he did not wish to interact. He also made a snarky comment about Brazilians not drinking wine, when we asked for a glass of white wine. I also think I experienced a gender issue, whenever I asked something from the menu he ignored me, yet wrote it down when my partner mentioned it. Wow.
A restaurant should aim to cater to all races, not just their own. Be welcoming to all people, regardless of race or gender. Being nice does not hurt. To top it all off, a service charge of 8% was added onto the bill. My partner is a sweetheart so he obviously did not ask for it to removed. We will not be coming again, that is for sure. Don’t ruin someone else’s experience like you...
Read moreBooked for 3 persons prior to concert.Ordered drinks as we arrived in the lively restaurant.2 drinks arrived, 1 didnt. We ordered our food and mentioned the missing drink. We sat and chatted and 2 of us enjoyed our drinks. The place became quieter and we noticed on a table of 10 young people next to us that the waiter had brought food for 8 of them and missed out 2, and had in fact missed their order completely, so they didnt eat for another 20 mins. The table next to us, a family of 4 were given the bill. The older male of the group stated "weve not had our food yet" And in fact neither had we. We called the waiter (who doesnt speak English) then the manager / owner came over to us and said it had been very busy, blah blah......but not an appology. "it will be 6 minutes, but I think maybe more like 10" he says and we wait more. After 1 hr and 10 minutes our food arrived. 2 of us had meat skewers which were quite nice. But the fries were so heavily coated in salt they looked like they had ice on them and were inedible. My partner had beef stroganof. She said it was nice...... but now we were going to miss the concert and still hadnt had the 3rd drink. So we had our food arrive, some of it eaten, bill paid and out in 9 minutes......77 quid. Not a single word of sorry about that and it wasnt just us that experienced horrendous service. So in short do i recommend, nope I really dont. The grek place next door is much nicer, go there. We...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of visiting a Brazilian restaurant in London, and I must say, it was an absolutely fantastic experience! From the moment I stepped in, the vibrant atmosphere and lively ambiance instantly transported me to the heart of Brazil.
The first thing that caught my attention was the incredible vibe of this place. The energetic music, colorful decor, and warm staff created a lively and welcoming atmosphere that made me feel right at Brazil
Now, let's talk about the drinks. The sugar cane caipirinha was nothing short of amazing! It was expertly crafted, with just the right balance of sweetness and tanginess. It made me feel I was in the heart of Ipanema beaches in Rio de Janeiro.
And let's not forget the food. The x costela burger deserves all the accolades it can get. Believe me when I say it's the best burger I have ever tasted! The succulent, juicy ribs were divine. It's a burger that sets a new standard, and I can't recommend it enough.
Lastly, I was pleasantly surprised by the wide variety of cakes available. From traditional Brazilian delights to decadent chocolate creations, they had something to satisfy every sweet tooth. The cake was moist, the frosting was light and creamy, and the burst of tropical flavor was absolutely delightful.
So, if you're in London and craving a taste of Brazil, make sure to visit this restaurant. You'll be treated to an unforgettable culinary journey that will leave you...
