Italico Ristorante & Pizzeria — Restaurant in London

Really nice restaurant based in Surrey Quays, but with plenty of flaws.

Food was tasty and priced reasonable for the area. We had American pancakes (which were delicious, but could use some more maple syroup on the plate) and English breakfast. With the latter there was an issue of missing ingredients, but as it was fairly late into breakfast service it's understandable and alternative has been offered.

The biggest issues we faced were with the service.

Unfortunately we had to wait for our food for around 40 minutes and from what I could see, we were not the only ones. I believe there should be more planning put into cooking as well as ordering (missing ingredients as per section above).

Another issue we had was with the payment. When we split the bill I pointed to waitress that the amount doesn't add up, but she informed us about the service charge which is understandable. After closer look on the bill, the service charge was already included in the total amount so we've paid additional charge/tip not knowing about it.

I think this place have a potential as their food is delicious and looks great, but they have to put more effort into planning...

Bottom line: go for great Italian favorites. We were looking for something other than fried food or Indian cuisine for dinner tonight and decided on Italian. Upon entering it was clear that this was a nice place: white tablecloths, tasteful decor, muted atmosphere. The menu is not too extensive, but does have a variety of pasta and pizza choices. My companion and I shared a dish of Carbonara, garlic bread and a rocket (arugula) salad. There was plenty for the two of us, but we did finish it all without stuffing ourselves. The Carbonara was done to perfection, creamy egg sauce without a hint of curdling, flavorful pancetta, and al dente spaghetti pasta. It was a joy! The garlic bread was a thin pizza crust topped with a hint of olive oil and garlic. It was tasty, but I couldn’t use it to sop up every last bit of the carbonara sauce. The salad had a light balsamic dressing that complemented the rest of the meal perfectly. The entire meal looked snd tasted so good I forgot to take photos! We discover italico for the first time on a walk with our dog and feeling hungry decided to stop and take a look at the outside menu, was at that point that with a warm welcome and smile Goda greet us and ensure that the dog will not create any problems. We were happy to be able to enjoy a meal with our dog , food was delicious and service excellent. My dog feel spoiled too as they treat him with a bow full of fresh water and stayed quiet all the times.
