I must say I am not happy with my today's experience at JJ Moons. I visited them this morning as I skipped my breakfast and I thought to order it through them and instead of taking it away, have it there. First thing I noticed they were not very welcoming and one of the waitresses started complaining off pain in her hand or arm, which I completely fine with as I have humility for others. Later, she took an order for my breakfast and gave my cup of tea in hand. My breakfast was served to the table. Meanwhile I noticed I was not told where they have kept the milk and sugar for the teas and coffees. I went to the counter to ask the customer officer for guiding me to the coffee area. He was in fact the manager and he answered me with horrible loud voice and asked me to wait while he is serving the customer. I found this very abrupt and rude as he could easily answer my question because I never mentioned to him to serve me first before the previous customer. Anyhow, after a long wait he guided me to the coffee section with his funny attitude. When I poured the milk in, I realised it had gone off. I mentioned this to the same waitress but she did not believe me. Later when I told her assertively and showed her the spoilt milk bits floating on my tea surface, she finally believed me. I mentioned to her for a replacement which she completely ignored. I kept on waiting for another tea but I did not get any. I asked for the manager and unfortunately he was the same person who was loud at me whilst serving his customer. I would like to mention in particular about this guy, Otty. I found him extremely unprofessional and indifferent who does not care about his customers or does not ever bother to say an apology. I complained him of his attitude towards me and then my experience with the spoiled milk and a replacement of tea was not done. His face was without any impression as he was giving me an impression he does not care or believe in what I say. I mentioned to him that his attitude is very unprofessional but he did not bother it again. I requested for a refund and he just gave me a refund and said thank you. I would like this to be investigated as such managers are completely a loss for the business and they harm the business and experience of people like me to enjoy the breakfast in your restaurant. I expected an apology from him and a clarification about why things went wrong. I was not even ready to claim for a refund but he just did not bother about me and insulted...
Read moreWent in to wetherspoons on tuesday around 11:30 with a couple of my friends today for the first time and had the absolute worst experience. One of the managers was really rude and kept raising his voice for no reason whatsoever not respecting anything that we said and the other manager also didn’t help at all resolving the issue. We ordered a round of drinks at around 11:57 and at the time the bar staff didn’t mention anything about closing any time soon and they still went ahead and served us anyways. Literally a minute after that they said we only had 5 minutes to drink up which is not fair considering they didn’t call last order or said anything about closing even while serving. We got up from our tables and moved toward the bar as we didn’t want to create any problem but still had a bit of our drinks left so we just asked for 5 more minutes just so we could drink up. One of the managers got really abusive and rude and started threating to kick us out and said that we would never be allowed here again and for no reason at all started raising his voice at us and when we questioned his way of talking he just said that that’s how he speaks and we need to deal with it. Following that he also said and I quote “ we should be grateful that he served us alcohol and that he is letting us stay “ . This is absolutely no way of talking to a customer.
We asked if we could speak to a manager because we were not happy with the service to which he said “ do whatever you want and talk to whomever you want there’s nothing you can do about it” . The other manager who showed up also was of no help as she didn’t even listen to anything we had to stay instead we were very disrespectfully asked to leave.
I understand the end of night stress and the exhaustion but the kind of attitude that the manager had and the way he handled the situation was absolutely not acceptable. Wetherspoons is a place we go for the kind of experience and service you publicize about but when something like this happens what does it say about the kind of standard you are trying to set. We would never recommend this...
Read moreCan get really busy here so be prepared to wait sometimes. And be aware that the Queen of Sarcasm works here, I was lucky enough to finally be served by her. Take her with a pinch of salt and walk away and enjoy your food/drink. I ordered a bottle of Pinot Grigio, that cost less than £6, with a pint glass of ice and then added ice as I needed to the wine glass. As a single women, and it being my 1st visit, I didn't feel awkward sitting on my own. Would go back again, hopefully when the Queen isn't working !!
Went back here again before Xmas and not sure I'd go there again after this visit. As I usually do, I asked for a bottle of Pinot Grigio, as before. The female who served me came over with something that had been decanted into what looked like a specimen bottle. That wasn't the only problem. Firstly she didn't show me the bottle before, so I had no idea what it was and also I hadn't seen it opened. As a single women in a pub, I'd have expected to be able to open my own bottle as a matter of safety. When I said that I wasn't about to pay for something if I had no idea what it was and I wasn't going to take something that I had no idea if it was safe, her reply was a take it or leave attitude, and she wasn't about to open another 1. Had she done her job properly in the 1st place she wouldn't have had too !! Seems like the female staff have the same bloody awful customer services...
