I've tried this restaurant multiple times hoping that now that they've been open a while they would of improved.
I asked for the bubble tea extra sweet and ice cold (bc in the past the flavour was weak and lukewarm/barley cool) for reference, elsewhere I usually order normal sweetness.
Their bubble tea is FLAVOURLESS. I LOVE bubble tea and it pains me to write this review but honestly, the bubble tea is WEAK - EVERYTIME. I don't think the positive reviews here are written by people that drink bubble tea regularly from authentic shops like those in China Town. ( The best don't even have English menus) I asked for ice cold and the drink still wasn't cold to the touch, I shook it and there wasn't a ice cube in sight.
These guys simply don't deliver and it's grossly overpriced for wood green. When the hype dies down I don't think they'll last long charging £11 for a small bubble tea and piece of chicken. This is a real London neighbourhood not a tourist spot, they're going to rely on repeat custom so if they're going to charge Central London prices, £4 + for bubble tea it better be good.
They've also messed up my order a few times here, the staff seem clueless.
I couldn't recommend this restaurant based on the poor value for money and flavourless tea. I'd recommend other bble tea shops like Meet fresh, Yunique, T4 or Biju in...
Read moreJi's is the addition to Wood Green's food scene I didn't know it needed! The fried chicken (even without the customisable seasoning toppings) is moist, cooked well and full of flavour.
Being influenced by Taiwanese street food, this place offers a different take on fried chicken. On the menu in addition to the classics (fried chicken legs, breast and wings and pop corn chicken), there are gizzards, squid, prawn, octopus, lotus roots, tofu and chicken skin. It is all expertly fried on site and to order and brings a taste of east asian street food to Wood Green. The seasoning powders mean you can customise the flavours to your liking although the staff have a prettt good grasp with what goes well with which item.
The bubble teas are of a good standard and pleasantly surprised to know the Taro bubble tea is made with actual Taro rather than powder. It is not the best on London but comfortably best in Wood Green and a solid option to go in any of their combos.
The owners are also incredibly friendly and accommodating, making the whole experience a little more personable. Seating for the time being is limited but shop is relatively spacious...
Read moreAVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE PLAGUE!!! I ordered the volcano chicken with my little family which included 3 children under the age of 6 during the February half term , we wanted to try something different as shahs opposite was closed ( our usual place to go for food ) and we have been struck down with vomiting and diarrhoea for 7 days there is definitely a lack of cleanliness behind the scenes as reading some other reviews of this place has made me regret choosing this place altogether ! Please if you have little children DO NOT EAT HERE ! And avoid the volcano chicken it’s a lump of chicken with cheese in the middle covered in breadcrumbs that is deep fried I believe it has caused misery and havoc in my home and we are suffering because of it , I will contact food standards agency because the public are at risk and it’s detrimental to society at Large ! Absolutely horrible experience . Will never eat here again in my life that’s if I live after...
