As a regular patron of the John Snow pub in Soho, I can confidently say that this place is a hidden gem in the heart of London. From its cozy atmosphere to its friendly staff, the John Snow pub exudes a warmth that instantly makes you feel at home.
The pub's decor is reminiscent of a traditional English tavern, with its wooden paneling, vintage photos, and dim lighting that sets the mood for a relaxing evening. The historic setting pays homage to the renowned physician, John Snow, with fascinating artifacts and memorabilia displayed throughout the pub, adding a unique touch to its ambiance.
One of the standout features of the John Snow pub is its impressive selection of craft beers and ciders on tap. From locally brewed ales to international favorites, there's always something for everyone's taste buds. The bartenders are knowledgeable and passionate about their craft, and they're always happy to recommend a new brew to try.
The food at the John Snow pub is equally delightful. The menu offers a variety of classic pub fare, from fish and chips to burgers, all cooked to perfection. The quality of the ingredients is evident, and the portions are generous, making it a great spot for a satisfying meal.
What truly sets the John Snow pub apart is its friendly and welcoming staff. The service is exceptional, with the staff going out of their way to make you feel welcome and ensure you have a memorable experience. The warm and attentive service adds to the overall charm of the pub and keeps me coming back time and time again.
In addition, the John Snow pub's location in Soho is perfect for a night out in London. It's tucked away on a quiet street, providing a cozy retreat from the hustle and bustle of the city, yet it's still conveniently close to popular attractions and theaters.
In conclusion, I highly recommend the John Snow pub for a delightful evening out. Its charming ambiance, excellent selection of drinks, delicious food, and outstanding service make it a must-visit destination in Soho. I still can't believe a place like this is still open
I went there because of the Cholera History of the pub. Me and my sister would like to eat something, so after checking the Cholera pump, we went into the pub.
We asked for a table for 2. A guy told them they just had drinks, that we could sit anywhere.
So we choose a table and sit down.
They didn't give us the menu while we went to the table, so I had to stand up, go to the bar and ask for the menu, It looked like it was a favor.
When I got the menu, I saw a sign "excellent food served upstairs".
So I asked if the drinks from downstairs (the pub/bar) were the same from upstairs, because we wanted something to eat.
One of the 2 guys answered something I didn't ask. He said that to go upstairs, you should order food. I didn't ask that. So, I asked again if the drinks upstairs were the same from downstairs.
For the 2nd time, this guy didn't answer what I asked. He said that upstairs also have a bar. I don't know if he has any cognitive limitations, but upstairs can have a bar but the drinks don't need to be the same. That's why I was asking about the drinks.
Then, I asked for the 3rd time. Believe it or not, this guy huffed in anger and put this hands on his face, clearly showing he lost his mind. He isn't able to answer a simple question and lost his mind. It's crazy.
Then, the other, with the painted nail, saw that the first guy had lost his mind and gave me the simple answer: YES, THE DRINKS ARE THE SAME.
I don't know if he behaved like this because he saw 2 lonely women and thought that he could treat us like this.
If there was a guy with us, would he behave like that?
I don't recommend this place. It's crazy someone who works with the public at a tourism area...
Read moreI've een to this Sam Smith pub a few times... On this occasion I went with a friend prior to visiting the Photographers Gallery a few minutes walk... We Arrived at 4pm on Friday 8th November (I'm specifying the date so the brewery knows who was on duty!), and the pub was already cramped downstairs... I asked the bartender, 'isn't the upstairs open?' he replied 'No! opens at 5pm'...(It was busy and the ground floor of the pub was quite small- Why wasn't the upstairs opened earlier?) Eventually I found a table and ordered some drinks: a pint of their larger and a bottle of their IPA.. total cost £13.35! Whilst ordering the drinks (the beer bottles were in the refrigerator behind the bar and difficult to me or indeed anyone to see), the bartender made no attempt to show or explain what they had and offer me or my friend any recommendations based on our taste. For us it felt like we were not treated as 'valued' customers but a burden on the bartender... Frankly ridiculous given the cost of the beer! Sam Smith really needs to look closely at how they stock their products: As a brewery that brews it's own products and sells it directly to the consumer who may not necessarily be familiar with it, it seems pretty obvious to educate your customers by at least have some information as to the beers that are available as well as employ staff that are motivated to providing a good customer experience ... Particularly in in Soho... Where there are a lot of tourists!
I doubt I'll be paying them a...
