I booked this place for our belated anniversary dinner after struggling to get a reservation on an earlier date. Upon arrival, I was warmly greeted by the front-of-house/manager? (Sorry, I didn’t catch his name to give him a proper shout-out). My eyes almost popped when I saw the size of our table - it was tiny! However, after using the ladies' room, I realised all the tables were small, I just wasn’t prepared for how cosy this place was.
Once the OH arrived, we quickly decided on the pre-theatre menu. I was wrestling with deciding what to drink, but the guy who seated me took a moment to chat and helped me decide. Luckily, OH ordered the drink I had been debating over, so of course, I had to taste it for him!
Pretty much as soon as our drinks were served, our food arrived. As I mentioned the table was really small, but our attentive server, Manisha did an excellent job of whipping away empty plates as soon as they were done, moving around with ease and kept everything flowing smoothly and effortlessly.
For starters, we had both the chicken and goat momos. They came with two delicious dipping sauces. The chicken momos were a little lacking in flavour, but the goat momos were fantastic.
This was then followed by the crackling spinach and chilly prawns. Both dishes were delicious. The prawns were plump and perfectly cooked and served in a sauce with a little heat.
For the main courses, I went with the ginger rice paired with the monkfish coconut curry, which was beautifully cooked. I’m a sucker for anything in a coconut sauce, and this one didn’t disappoint. OH opted for the beef with egg fried rice. He thought the beef was a little chewy, but I found it tender and delicious. However, the sauce was similar to the one with the prawns.
To round off the meal, we shared the brownie with ice cream for dessert. It was nice, but nothing particularly extraordinary, just a good, classic brownie as you’d expect, soft and rich, with the ice cream complementing it.
To make our evening even more special, the staff surprised us with a thoughtful anniversary card - such a sweet touch!
Despite the venue being quite small (well upstairs anyway), the atmosphere was lively, and the staff made the experience memorable with their friendly and fantastic service.
From the moment we walked in, the staff’s warmth and friendliness were evident. They made us feel incredibly welcome and created a relaxed, inviting atmosphere, ensuring we felt taken care of without being rushed or overlooked.
Overall, it was a lovely dining experience, and I’d...
Read moreCame here for a post theatre meal with a family of 5. As soon as we arrived we noticed that for the 5 of us they had allocated two small tables which are usually meant for two people. So two tables would seat 4 with the fifth having to sit on an end making it quite cramped.
When raising this with the staff their default policy is to seat odd numbers on a sub optimal amount of tables because they are a 'small restaurant' so beware of that when booking. We raised the matter and the restaurant couldn't give us the extra table we needed to seat the 5 of us, so we ended up eating in a very cramped manor. This could be a huge issue when ordering small plates style as there may not be enough table space which we definitely experienced. Just to reiterate, this place is cramped my dad who was sitting next to me - his chair was constantly pressed against him due to the foot traffic passing through the narrow gap behind him. The staff only provided excuses and they didn't do anything to make the situation better.
The only reason I'm being generous with three stars is because the food was actually pretty good. It arrived promptly and for the most part tasted exquisite. The lamb chops especially, some of the best I've had! So that's a dish I'd recommend. A dish I wouldn't recommend however is the chicken manchurian, just tasted like salted soy sauced chicken with some vegetables, nothing special. Everything else we ordered, cracked spinach, cauliflower, chicken lollipop, crab and various others were great. It is worth noting that this is Indo-Chinese cuisine and thus none of the dishes are fully Indian or fully chinese, they are a hybrid which most of the time works!
The service was also good in that they were constantly filling up our water glasses and there was always someone to hail.
Generally, the food was excellent but monetisation practises to maximise guest numbers in an already cramped environment is not on and needs to change. To get around this, my recommendation is come here as a two at most! I'd definitely give this place a go if you want a unique take on...

We tried the goat, beef and chicken momos they literally exploded in our mouths with flavour and juiciness. Our favourite was the beef. The sauces that went with them were delicious too.
The lamb chops were also amazing, they were thick and cooked and marinated to perfection.
We also got the ribeye dry red chilli, which was like a curry and stir fry and wow…probably some of the best saucy style beef I’ve tried. Cooked to perfection. Juicy, tender and melt in the mouth.
The Bombay chilli prawns were also amazing we ate that with the egg Szechuan fried rice. Everything was spiced to perfection, if you can’t hack chilli then maybe asked for a milder flavour. If you’re used to chillier food then it’s perfect. Probably a Nando’s level hot - extra hot as a comparison.
We also got a bing bread I think this was like a laccha paratha. This was so delicious you could taste the ghee and the crispy layers. I would happily eat this with some desi tea.
The most underwhelming item was the lollipop chicken and the sauce was just OK but it was still very fresh and delicious.
We also got the sizzling brownie and wow this was sooo delicious, with it being on a skillet the bottom of the brownie gets slightly chewy. It was just a perfect dessert simple but 10/10.
The service was also 10/10 alongside the ambience and experience. The place had a calm and chill vibe. Even though it was extremely busy. The waiters and the managers carefully tended to all tables smoothly it was literally jammed from 5pm. You can tell the staff enjoy working there as they just vibe together.
I would definitely go again very soon to try the items I didn’t get to try.
Thank you!
BTW it’s like a 40 minute...
