Me and my friends had the misfortune of dining at Kervan restaurant (Wood Green) recently and I must say, it was one of the worst restaurant experiences I have ever had. The customer service was absolutely horrendous from the moment we walked in. The staff were incredibly rude and showed a complete lack of attention to us as customers. We were made to feel like an inconvenience rather than valued guests.
To make matters worse, the food wasn't nice at all. It was bland, unappetizing, and overpriced. Even the bread was really basic and nothing special unlike any other Turkish restaurant. We had high hopes for this restaurant, but we were sorely disappointed. What a waste of time and money.
The constant loud noises coming from the kitchen added to the already unpleasant atmosphere. It was impossible to carry on a conversation without having to shout to be heard. We were truly disappointed by the entire experience.
To add insult to injury, we were slapped with an undeserved service charge. It was clear that the restaurant was trying to make quick money without delivering even basic levels of service. It was an absolute insult to the terrible experience we had.
Overall, I would not recommend Kervan restaurant to anyone. The horrendous customer service, rude staff, lack of attention to customers, unappetizing food, basic bread, constant loud noises, and undeserved service charge made this a truly unpleasant experience. Do yourself a favor and avoid this restaurant...
Read moreWe were so disappointed. At the beginning waitress spilled our drinks, it dropped mood a little bit down but still was ok, cause guys reacted and sweeped, brought new drinks. We ordered Ali nazik, guvec and Donner. They brought just Ali nazik for me first, which was cold and other eaters were just watching how I am eating. We called waitress, asked where is other food and why Ali nazik is cold, they answered that they will bring soon and that they can warm up Ali nazik... Seriously? Are you gonna warm up kebab meat with yoghurt? How you think it gonna taste after that? I just swallowed it and eat it. Second plate was guvec and guess what? It was cold too? I don't know what is the problem about cold food... Maybe some appliances are not working as they should or waitresses are too slow and can't bring in time by making food cold. I don't write that it was busy in restaurant cause it's not excuse. Every restaurant should be busy, that what they want, it's their aim and that's why there so many tables. So waitress offered to warm up guvec, my partner agreed. And in ridiculous way it came out that they brought it cold again.... Second, damn time... Husband couldn't finish it. Donner was good, warm, niece didn't complain, she is that kind of person... I have been in other Kervans, it...
Read moreVery friendly staff, very busy restaybut they spotted our elderly family member with a walking stick and automatically offered a seat on the ground floor. Service was not rushed, but not too slow either. Before we ordered, staff asked if we were fasting, which was a lovely touch. We saw them bringing dates to people who were. The food was wonderful as always, and the jumbo platter was wonderful and actually way too much food even for 6 hungry people. We took a lot of leftovers home! The tea was delicious and strong, and I believe not charged for (small glass.) They bring bread and salad and yogurt cucumber dip to the table anyway, and we ordered hummus and babaganus dips, and also a dish of fried lambs liver for starters. Everything was delicious and even our aubergine-resistent family members were surprised at how much they liked the babaganus. The liver is amazing, really crispy but also soft and really deliciously spiced. I would love a bit more lamb shish on the platter, but I understand it's the most expensive piece, so it's fine. We also indulged in a couple of desserts, and they were really good. They could be a bit more generous with the kaymak. My friend also had a Turkish coffee and said it...
