King Rooster Fried Chicken Shop — Restaurant in London

I have been going to this place for many years now. Only now had the opportunity to do a review. The staff are nice and friendly. The kitchen is open so it's fairly easy to keep an eye on how food is prepared especially if you are concerned about hygiene. The chicken and chips are usually fresh too. I also very much like the chicken in comparison to other similar places. Can't quite put my finger on it but given the option I'll always choose this place. The 2nd reason I come here is cause of the way they do the doner meat and chips. I always have it done with onion and chilli and it comes out spectacular. I don't do salad so can't comment on that. The price for both options is very reasonable and depending on the time of day it can get very busy as it's close to a school. I no longer work in the area but if I do happen to be around I tend to indulge. It's a pretty small space so don't expect comfortable seating if at all. There are so many things that would put you off coming here, but i say look beyong your snobbish ways and give the King a try.Convienantly located next to a night bus stop, look i was hungry and the timer said i had 11 minutes to wait. I thought i'd take a chance on the king.Offering a vast selection of culinary delights, i played safe and went for chips, sure. They were pretty good infact i will liken them to maccie d stylee.So what do i do the following night faced with the same bus predicament in the early hours of new years day....pay them another visit of course!Oh the joy on the king's little face to see our familiar faces. Cheap food. Pizza was excellent and the burgers were good too.Very good price. We were 2 families with 4 kids each and it cost us about 40GBP to have a fulfilling meal after a full day of walking around London. Was staying in the Travelodge right opposite and just wanted something cheap and cheerful. Ordered a 12" pizza and got charged for a 15" which I pointed out. Very apologetic.
