âŒïž Very impolite people working here. At least at dinner timeâŠ
The manager (I believe it was) seemed either drunk or barely able to speak English.
The one waitress from that night needs more experienceâor to simply wake up and get things done correctly.
My Experience: (Grab some đż)
The place and food were alright. I went there around carnival season with a group of friends (five students in total).
We decided to split the bill, and thatâs where it started⊠Somehow, we âtap-paidâ 8 times and got 4 receipts!
Of course, this was wrong. I could tell a payment-receipt was missing, but the waitress insisted everything was fine and said the missing receipt might be downstairs. I thought, Okay⊠one of those 8 taps must have gone through.
The âmanagerâ was mad angry with us and the waitress, for some reason. He was SHOUTING at me on the stairs every time I tried to talk and get an explanation, threatening me with calling the police if we didnât pay 20 miserable pounds, and that I could talk to them if I wanted to. (Honestly, I wish that had happened. I just wanted to see the receipts and check who had to pay the ÂŁ20 đ)
The main phrases he kept yelling at me were âyou donât go nowhere,â (not like I was trying to) âpay ÂŁ20 (something) and leave,â and âCANâT YOU SEE THE RECEIPTS? Look, Look 1 ⊠4, one missing!â
The whole time we where on the stairs, I was thinking that he might not have realised he was holding the receipts, even the ones given to us.
As the manager, he wouldnât even let me explain that we just wanted to double-check the receipts he was holding (the ones from the till), especially since weâd tapped 8 times. Instead, he acted as a crybaby for ÂŁ20, maybe he just had a bad day but he should solve his personal problems outside work.
At the very end they were trying to make us pay without any proper explanation (we just kept tapping đ) and kick us out in a rush because they were closing. I thought it was because it was very late and their closing time, but AFTER we finished checking our bank accounts outside, I saw that they still had around around 18 minutes until closing time. Crazy, right? đ€đ (And by the way, they werenât in a hurry to close; there were still people eating inside.)
âŒïž The waitress was more understanding and saw that we were confused. We even made a payment of just 30 pence. đ€Šââïžđ
We ended up tapping 10 times and they got a total of 6 receipts. Because apparently the receipts were from them to them, and we could only take a picture⊠they did not gave us any copies, imagine my confusion at that time.đ€Ż
Paid the last two around 23:59 (not long from the others)
âïžConclusion: The manager made this a really horrible experience. Definitely not coming backâŠ
There are other restaurants around the corner cheaper, and I bet theyâre more polite/humane at nights.
Two of my friends went back to their home country with this disgusting experience.
-I was not going to post anything as my friends insisted, but listen⊠thereâs no way the waitress was better problem-solving than the manager or whoever that guy was. I kept quiet that day, just because I didnât want to make a scene⊠but we recently brought this up. (definitely not a good thing to remember, but good to compare managers...

Ordered a pizza - Margarita comes out quick and very nice. Also ordered Penne Arrabiata pasta at ÂŁ18.95! (asked for less oil at outset)...and then they serve this! I couldnt believe my eyes - dripping in oil! Ordered side of Fries - they were so salty at outset, I was shocked and left. We asked for the pasta to to be redone and specifically asked for less oil at outset (as they charge 12.5% service fee on top of the prices). The waitress was great but returns with a plate after just 5 mins with only half the normal portion and it looked re-heated ! Wine - cheapest bottle is the Montepulciano Folonari - ÂŁ33 per bottle! or the half palatable, Chianti is ÂŁ49.00 or their medimum Montepulciano Folonari ÂŁ89.90! TOILETS - the stench was horrific, unknown when last cleaned. SERVICE - Very friendly and good waiter that explained that we are fans and regulars at the Naples branch in Italy and Baker St London = worth queuing an hour for! The Baker street was great but this was shocking.
FINALLY - Go to till and asked to cancel the pasta and met with a crowd of waiters, a long wait initial objection from owner who 'speaks no english at all'? and the final straw - they add 12.5% service charge, which I of course paid because the pasta was cancelled but waiter was very apologetic and helpful, he was fantastic and apologised sincerely
I wont say any more - this place charges nearly ÂŁ20 for a standard margarita and wine is a huge mark up. Sorry, wont be returning again unless I want a bowl of oil with a few...
