I’m honestly still in disbelief at how poorly I was treated here. I was walking along the street and, as a pregnant woman, urgently needed to use the restroom. This was the only restaurant nearby that looked open and accessible. I approached politely and asked if I could use their toilet, explaining that I was pregnant and in desperate need.
The man working there responded abruptly: “No, sorry, customers only.” Fair enough — policies are policies. But when I explained again, calmly, that I was heavily pregnant and really needed to go, a middle-aged blonde woman behind the till (wearing glasses) joined in and said “We only allow customers.”
I reiterated, for the third time, that I’m pregnant and needed urgent access to the toilet — and then she said something I’ll never forget: “Oh, you’re pregnant? Show me then! Let me see!”
I was stunned. Completely humiliated. She actually demanded that I prove I was pregnant by showing my belly in front of other customers and staff. It was degrading and inhumane.
My husband was furious and quickly stepped in, grabbing my hand and saying we should leave. I was shaking with anger and disbelief. How could anyone, let alone a woman, treat another woman this way — especially one who is pregnant and in distress?
This is not just poor customer service. This is a total lack of basic human decency and compassion. The way I was spoken to, the tone, and the dismissiveness were appalling. No business should treat anyone like this — let alone a pregnant woman in need.
On our way out, I took a photo and video of the place to document what happened — and as I turned around, I saw the staff laughing, chatting, and clearly gossiping about the situation, as if it was some sort of joke.
Their behaviour was not only cold and dismissive — it was actively cruel. There was zero empathy, zero professionalism, and absolutely no basic human decency.
Pregnant or not, no one should be treated this way — especially when they’re visibly in distress. I’ve never been so appalled by the way staff have treated someone in need.
If I could give zero stars, I would. Avoid this place. Their staff need serious training in empathy, respect, and...
Read moreI came across this restaurant by chance. My wife and I were walking around and saw that the terrace was full, so we looked at the menu and decided to stay for dinner. I'm the kind of person who, when I arrive at a restaurant I don't know, I ask the waiter for recommendations of their best dishes and lets himself guide me. When the waiter arrived, I asked him if he could recommend any of their specialties, and he told me, quite arrogantly, that he didn't recommend them because all of their dishes are good. So I decided to order fried calamari, which arrived without any sauce. We also ordered hummus, and it arrived without any vegetables or bread. We had to ask for extra bread. Then came the lamp chop, sea bass, and Greek salad. The food, in general, was quite basic and tasteless. We finished dinner and left halfway through the meal. We asked for the bill and told the waiter that we needed the receipt with the VAT breakdown, to which the waiter replied that the receipt had VAT. I tried to explain that the receipt didn't have the VAT breakdown, and he started arguing, claiming that they'd been working for years and always gave out that receipt, and that it already had the VAT. Anyway, to avoid further arguments with the waiter, I paid and left. I hope the manager or owner can resolve the VAT issue and give it to their customers when they need it. It doesn't cost anything, and it's our right to obtain the receipt with the VAT breakdown. And I hope that you can provide better service...
Read moreDissapointed. Went for 2nd wedding anniversary, the restaurant was very retro, had a unique feel. The service was ok, took a while to order, then also some of the staff didnt understand. The food portions was small. We planned to order the meze, but the waiter/FOH/Owner said no too expensive and too much food for 2 people. They wouldnt let us modify it either as my wife doesnt eat meat, so they told us to order a la carte. We got less food and paid more in my opinion. Meze was £26pp and our bill with 3 starters, a salad and 2 mains came to £65! The food tasted ok but the portions was very small. 3 pieces of Haloumi cheese to share with 2 people, who gets the third piece? 2 spanikopita for £6 was extreme in my view. They also were quite greasy. The Greek salad tasted like a tesco salad bag with feta cheese and olives thrown in. Didnt have a fresh feel like when we had greek salads in Greece last yeyar. The mains was fine, Salmon that my wife had was nice and the lamb i had was well cooked. However a side salad would of been better to acompany the meal. Also you can get chili and garlic sauces in your normal Turkish/Lebanese. In greek restaurants you dont get this which does make it a bit flavourless. Fortunately, they had some encona chili sauce i could have. Overall, I wouldnt come back I think we would have had a better meal at th real Greek in my opinion and paid...
