Totally worth paying the extra 100 quid for a better standard of stay than the nearest competitor (Britanniq Hampstead) & to have the luxury of just crossing the road.||||I was met with a really friendly bubbly girl on reception who explained everything clearly. The night porter was equally as welcoming and charming after the gig & same with the lovely girl on in the morning. Staff here are definitely five star.||||Rooms on the smaller side, which may disappoint many, especially Australians and Americans who sense a space differs to a Londoner; but for my purposes, for one night it was fine, and had everything I needed. Tea and coffee. No biscuits but I can't criticize them for that, because they seem to be a historical artifact now in ALL hotels of all classifications. Along with toilet brushes. 🤔🙄😜 Bed was with nice and comfy with marshmallowy pillows. Shower was very very hot it went to scorching temperatures as I like it to. ||||Noise levels - NONE. I cannot understand the complaints about noise. Usually I sleep with ear plugs but I did not need to. There was not a Peep from outside. But then again I was staying on a Wednesday night. Windows are double glazed though. If you choose to be staying in the centre of London and Camden Town you shouldn't really be complaining about noise. Choose a quieter area of London. People do need to manage their expectations with noise when booking hotels and they never do I find.||||Restaurant bodeans offered a lovely dinner and breakfast. I had the veggie chili which was just enough to fill me up but wasn't heavy on the belly before the gig, as often Mexican food is. Pancakes eggs and hash browns breakfast on an American diner was perfect for me as an Americanophile - they even had my favourite bottomless filter coffee! An excellent to-go price as well for 99p. ||||In addition there was a happy hour on with really yummy margaritas which we enjoyed pre-gig. I needed a coffee to wake up l, and even though they didn't have the coffee on she made me a cold brew somehow, which was appreciated. There is a pub opposite, with which they are affiliated, which is open later for you to have a nightcap post gig.||||The girls in Bodeans were lovely and welcoming, 5 star service. I arrived a bit emotional; I was attending the gig in memory of/'for' my late friend who introduced me to the band. On my own admission I was a bit grumpy and out of sorts; but the girls were still very welcoming, ignoring my grumpiness & shortness, welcoming me with kindness.😍||||I rated the hotel 4, not 5, due to the following, the majority of which the hotel could improve easily.||||- my room was still a bit on the cold side despite turning off the AC completely and closing both Windows. I wouldn't want to stay here in January as a result. It might be nice to look into this and/or provide some blankets.||||- I went back and forth to my room before the gig many times and each time the TV turns its way off and you have to find your way back to whichever Channel you were watching, it doesn't help the TV channels don't have numbers. I realized this is done for the environment but for someone who makes sure that she turns everything off when she leaves a hotel room, on a default, this was annoying.||||- They can't help this one, but room was a bit on the small side. However they do offer larger doubles for a little bit more money. I think it's probably worth paying the bit extra for that if you are two people.||||- dropping a point for management being greedy and only having two girls on in bodeans. Poor girls were literally rushed off their feet, and that's really not fair. People were complaining that tables were not cleared etc they could only do what they could do. Considering half the Ozzie population of London was at this gig, bodeans would do well to look into the Roundhouse listings and ascertain when they need to have more two staff members on. I would like to think this is an oversight, & not realizing how busy they would be that night and not because management is greedy. Please don't treat your stuff like that Bodeans.||||Address those things, and it could quite easily be a five-star stay.||||I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel to anybody visiting London, but especially those attending Roundhouse gigs. ||||Apologies for any typos, crazy words switch out, or lack of grammar and punctuation from the voice to text software, & my being too lazy to correct them. It's the only way I can get anything done as a busy working...
Read moreAlthough we booked the Camden Enterprise (via a booking site), we actually stayed at the Camden Town hotel, which is on the opposite corner to the pub. This wasn't an issue, but it is quite confusing. When we went to the pub, we saw the hotel sign, and on the door a notice directing you to the opposite site of the road, aka the Camden town hotel. Reception is a little desk - the hotel itself is above Bodeans restaurant/bar/pool rooms and is 24hours. There is a lift. We stayed in a room which was a decent size, with a sofabed and a double bed.|Spotlessly clean, nice bedding, cute bathroom with rain shower (Take a shower cap if you don't want to get your hair wet!) which has underfloor heating. The price we paid was extremely reasonable (less than the price of a private room in the nearest hostel) . We enjoyed our breakfast at Bodeans although there are many other breakfast options in Chalk farm/Camden. Located just next to Chalk Farm tube and a short stroll to Camden Market. Wifi works well.|We were very happy overall with the accommodation and would stay again, so I didn't have any dislikes. Other than a bit of banging and drilling in the room either next to ours or above it during the day. But we went out, so it was fine. |Things to note - no TV. I never watch it anyway, so it didn't bother us.|No storage There are hanging pegs on the wall -but there isn't anywhere to 'put your stuff' so you need to leave it all in your case/bag, which has to go on the floor as there isn't anywhere to put that either. We only stayed one night so not an issue but it might bother you for a longer stay. |This is a hotel above a restaurant, next door to a pub, on a busy junction in Chalk Farm. Its going to be noisy and they can't do a lot about that. Take earplugs.||The hotel did not get my messages via the booking site, about requesting separate beds (when I booked, there was the option to choose double or twin) I called them (on the Camden Enterprise number) the morning of our stay because i got a message about it being a double- they were absolutely fine about me requesting separate beds instead - my son actually had a sofa bed which was comfy enough and I had a double bed (room 101) which was...
Read moreI booked a last-minute stay here for travelling solo to a gig. The location was really good - not even a two minute walk to the tube station or venue.|I had a small double room on the third floor accessed by lift, which was compact but did not feel at all cramped - the use of space was good, with a clothes rail high enough to store luggage beneath it and a sliding door to the bathroom. |There was a more than adequate supply of tea and coffee, bottled water, a decent waterfall shower with piping hot water and nice toiletries, good towels, and an extremely comfortable bed. Unexpectedly for a compact room there were also five double power outlets, some with additional USB. Check-in was quick and easy, and both members of staff I spoke to during my stay were very nice.|I didn't stay for breakfast but the menu did look pretty good.|Overall a great experience and I would definitely...
