I've been at the restaurant on a Saturday evening to enjoy dinner and it's been a very pleasant experience. It is a charmingly decorated cosy little restaurant offering delicious meals. The food was served quickly and staff was attentive but never hectic or tedious. The waitress also answered questions about the menu friendly and patiently and it seemed that every member of staff is well-trained regarding dietary requirements. I've chosen a starter and a salad for my main course and it was absolutely filling. Especially the salad was a generous portion size. Both dishes had flavorful single components that also harmonised with each other in just the right balance creating an all-encompassing relish. The same applies for the dessert. Despite being full I was absolutely delighted that I've had it. It was, again, a succulent dish, appealingly and promptly served and a quite generous helping. Unfortunately the room acoustics are a bit of a drawback. I was by myself so I did not converse with someone else, but the background conversations could be quite dominant in the spot that I was sitting in, so it might have been difficult to understand another person at the table. Maybe the interior could be complemented with some sound reducing furniture. I also had to ask for water with my red wine, which should go together unspokenly. This is however just a minor issue. I will definately come back at other times to get to know the rest of the menu, which I am sure will be just as appetizing. I absolutely appreciate that they offer a shared platter for the starters as well as the main dishes. It is a smart solution if one wanted to taste from different dishes and encourages elegant food sharing in a group.

Mystified why Manna isn't busier as the food and the service is faultless. Vegan restaurants sometimes skimp on the cheeseboard. Not here. Delicious cheese board with a great selection of cheeses, some made by Manna. The blue and the truffly camembert were stand outs. Accompaniments of fruit and chutney with homemade bread and crackers which were surprisingly light and delicate. A perfectly seasoned Sunday Lunch that came with just the right amount of everything including potatoes two ways, roasties and Dauphinoise. Also cauliflower cheese, a dab of mushy peas, sweet, sweet carrots and that vegan Holy Grail of an amazing Yorkshire Pudding. Breadier than non-vegan yorkies, but the taste and the texture was just right. Best so far! Just when you think you're too full here comes a trifle that is so creamy that you float away into food heaven, with homemade Manna branded shortbread. 😁 We also tried the delectable lemon and blueberry slice with a gorgeously subtle rose flavoured ice cream. It's been a long while since I've wanted to cry because the food was so good. Here it is. Come to Manna... X

We had the croquettes,, onion rings and maki rolls to start. The croquettes were good, though bottled sauces were a let down. The maki rolls were okay. The onion rings were probably the stand out dish and best I've ever had. Whole rings of onion in a very crisp batter. We both ordered the Caribbean main. Both of us sent it back. We were looking forward to a well spiced curry and a jerk kick on the tofu. Both were a disappointment. Our replacement mains were the sausages and mash, and the enchiladas. Both were fine though nothing to get excited about. The sticky toffee pudding was good, moist, sweet and well balanced with ice cream. I last came here seven years ago. That feels like a good timeframe for a revisit.

The atmosphere at the restaurant was great. I book this restaurant because of the good reviews and was expecting to have amazing food. I called in to book a table for 2 and also mention that it was my partner's birthday. in my opinion the menu did not have a lot of options and was very expensive for what was on offer. Sausage and mash for £15, roast vegetables for £16, risotto strudel and an option of 4 sides for £15, which is what I ordered and my partner ordered the risotto. My four sides were the worst meal I have had in a vegan restaurant. They did not have taste and were very basic and not to a restaurant standard. We had a vegetable tart for starter which was good. Between the starter and the main course there was a very long wait. What we received was not impressive for all that time we waited. I wouldn't recomend the four sides choice to any one. Infact l told the waitress how disappointed I was but she was not that bothered. The risotto strudel was dry and the rice was a bit raw, it was served on a bed of chewy kale with a bit of green beans. The whole meal was unsatisfying. The idea seems nice but the execution was poor. The person I booked the restaurant with did not pass the message that were celebrating a birthday therefore, we received nothing. When I ask the waitress if she knew about the birthday she said no and there is nothing she can do since the kitchen was closing and that we should go back next year. This was my first time goin to this restaurant and I would never go back, mainly because of food and the service. I dont mind paying more for good food but on this cocation they ask for more and deliver less, very...

It's taken me a few months to write this review (and I don't review very much) but I've never felt more humiliated in a restaurant. We had a family member visiting from the US and wanted to take her for dinner. My husband was going through a tough diet from the Doctor, it was all very new for us. I called up and asked if Manna could accommodate based on what I told them, they checked with the kitchen and said they could probably do something and we should come in. It turns out my husband could eat less ingredients than I had realised and the list of things he couldn't eat was longer than what I had enquired about. I acknowledged my mistake there and then - it was certainly not on purpose. However the staff members were very rude and kept pointing out that I should have informed them of the other ingredients on the phone and rather than being pleasant and helpful even if there could have been little to eat for my husband, were standoffish and rude throughout the evening.

My husband wanted to leave as they made him feel like a burden. In the end we stayed due to our guest and he received a garden salad which was the most uninteresting salad we have ever seen. Almost as if it was done on purpose. He was already feeling awful from the enforced diet and this made him feel worse.

The whole meal was uncomfortable and I have to say my meal and that of my guest's were not great either, bland and overpriced. Overrated restaurant. I hope the staff do not treat anyone else the way we were treated. Highly embarrassing and uncomfortable on all counts. Zero...
