A table near us ordered and received two plates of Turkish eggs. One was returned after being placed on the table while a conversation took place. The waitress took the plate downstairs and then returned moments later with the dish to give it to me.
I asked her if the other diner had touched it and she said no - confirming that it was the same plate. However she then awkwardly stared at me afterwards from the till - was she feeling guilty? I was so uncomfortable about eating the dish, that I didn’t finish it. It was made worse because my friend’s dish didn’t arrive more than 10 minutes later. So my dish was cold and someone else’s rejected meal 😣
We were then refused a loyalty card stamp for the matcha latte because it was “not coffee”. Super stingy!! I have never experienced that anywhere else. The coffee here is too bitter for me so I only have the matcha. The grumpy male barista has refused to give me a stamp in the past but when I first started visiting the lady on the till always gave me a stamp, so I just thought it was the grumpy guy - but today it was the owner who said no 👎
Keep your stamps 🤷🏻♀️ I won’t be visiting for “not coffee”, second hand food or...
Read moreI was really looking forward to trying this place but the customer service was disappointing. First the cashier called me over and then told me she wasn’t ready yet. Then I asked her to tell the kitchen to make my sausages well done and she looked at me so blankly before her colleague explained what she meant. I then paid and she said she’d bring it over. I ordered an iced latte and cashier just left it on the side of the counter, didn’t call me or anything. Also it’s just customary to bring over my order right? I had to physically go up to the counter to ask if the iced coffee was mine and she wasn’t even apologetic when she could see I was annoyed because I was waiting. I’ve lived in this area all my life and thought the new gentrified businesses would be good for the area, but apparently I don’t get the same treatment perhaps because I don’t match the demographic of their...
Read moreMy wife and Instayed at the Travelodge London Oval and opted to eat breakfast at. A local restaurant rather than at the hotel. We are happy we did because Liloo was so good we went two days in a row!
Everyone that we interacted with was pleasant and helpful both days.
And the food was Amazing! The peach French toast was some of the best French toast I’ve ever had. I’ve traveled and eaten breakfast in: Tokyo, Korea, Germany, all over the US, and the peach French toast was possibly the best I’ve ever had. Everything was perfectly sweet and complemented the other sweet ingredients- nothing overpowered the other or was individually too sweet.
My wife enjoyed the brisket eggs Benedict so much that she got it both days, and the salt beef bagel was very good as-well!
If you’re ever in Lambeth, or catching a game at the Oval make...
