There is not a friendlier, more accommodating or efficient pub in this part of London. The staff are brilliant and there is rarely even a short wait at the bar (even when the cricket is on) because there are always enough people behind it and they know what they are doing. The beer is well kept and I have never had a bad pint served to me. It's not a pretentious pub - it's a large single room, with no gaming machines, they show sports and are happy to change channels if there is more interest in something on another side. There is one caveat to this. On weekends the pub is used extensively by sports teams coming from Kennington Park. They have a hidden (quite litterally) gem of a beer garden out back. Don't be fooled by the Hogwartesque passage way to get there.
