We came here through the fork and came specifically to eat good Spanish food. The food was not good and overpriced. After a few minutes the place was empty and we felt like unwelcomed guests. At 10:30 p.m. we were told that the kitchen would close soon and that the restaurant would close at 11 p.m. We had seen that the closing time on Saturday was midnight and the girl replied, "Oh that's right, today is Saturday! But the kitchen will close at 11 anyway." After 10 minutes two more people come in and ask if it was possible to eat and the same waitress told them "Sure!" In addition to being teased as they evidently wanted to close earlier than expected, we are given the bill without a 20% discount the fork. After mentioning the discount we are told that it would only apply to tapas. In the end we only received £3 discount as according to the caterer it is not applied to paella. The conditions were "excluding set menus and drinks" and I have been booking with the fork for 10 years all over the world. This is the first time I have ever been told a lie. I was not even supposed to pay for the nonexistent service/tips amounting to 12.5% of the total.
Total disrespect, we are tourists but we are not stupid. Here in London everyone treated us great and we had a great time, this venue was the only sore point of the whole vacation. If you are half empty on a Saturday night ask yourself two questions or change your...
Read moreI visited this restaurant earlier tonight after reading rave reviews and was disappointed by the very average quality of food. Everything tasted like it was deep fried directly from a freezer, with no sense of freshness and devoid of any flavour.
The croquetas in particular were clearly processed and not home made. I could have purchased something similar from Iceland.
The restaurant was mostly empty (albeit on a Tuesday) and had an eerily quiet atmosphere. The server seemed keen to get rid of us as quickly as she could.
I came along with my dog who wasn't even offered a treat, in spite of their Google profile highlighting "dogs welcome".
The prices were high at £30-40/person for food (excluding wine) for the quality offered. I'm extremely confused by the other Google reviews - so much so that I wonder whether the management may...
Read moreThe food was really good across the board, the real standout dishes were the bacalhau (cod) and the croquettas! The balance of spinach and cheese in the croquettas was just perfect, and the bacalhau dish had both creamy and sour aspects which made it very hearty to eat. Highly recommend that one.
Overall the menu was very inclusive and had a lot of vegetarian / seafood options for a tapas place! The highlight of the dinner was of course the churros at the end, which was perfectly done.
We were served by Daniel who was very attentive, friendly, and enthusiastic about the experience! He was a great server to have on a date night.
Whole dinner was fairly priced - 5 tapas + 1 dessert for £60 (more than enough...
