Maracuya Restaurant — Restaurant in London

This is going to be a long review.

We had made a reservation assuming it would be busy, we arrived early and there was nobody on the door so we just had to wait until someone noticed us. We said we had a reservation, the server didn't ask for a name or anything just said 'okay then, this way, sit anywhere there'..what is the point in reservations if you don't bother to check? Took about 5 minutes to come and take our order, I ordered 3 items from the starts because I didn't like the look of the mains, my friend ordered paella. We asked if it was definitely dairy free as she has a severe allergy, sever looked very confused, said 'I think has a little butter but I don't know, I can ask'...it says on the menu 'if you have an allergy please talk to your sever'...what's the point if they don't know? she also never went to check. My food arrived after 10 minutes (separately even though I ordered together) and my friends didn't appear. We asked where it was, were told 'don't worry, is coming'....we waited, asked again..'soon, it's coming'. I had to eat my food before it went cold (was barely hot when it arrived and there was butter in the steak that wasn't listed on the menu). We end up waiting 30 minutes, i finished my food, still so sign of hers so we decided to leave. Told the server we'll pay for what they actually bothered to bring us and then leave. 'but your food is coming', said no, we're leaving. she got a supervisor/manager and he said 'you don't want to wait for your paella?'....we had BEEN waiting! I watched him cancel it off the bill, they have options to choose from, he selected 'not happy'...right under that was 'food is late'. He wasn't wrong, I WAS not happy but I was unhappy because the FOOD IS LATE! I can only assume he did that way to hide the incompetence of the staff.

There was no organisation, while i was talking to manager to leave a table that arrived 15 minutes AFTER we arrived managed to get their food. It was not busy in the section we were seated in.

TERRIBLE service, terrible atmosphere, mediocre food that did not deserve the price tag and staff that really seem like they really don't care about doing their job. No uniform, all in mismatched black items of clothing, our server looked like she had...

Hi everyone it was bit of time since my last review and this time I would like to share about my latest experience in this restaurant Maracuya restaurant and I have to say it was god experience about this place . Us you can see we have been ordered some dring and some food a small starter next to our drink and let's start to say about starter it was not bad lovely creamy sauce fresh and crispy prawn also was delicious jalapeño courgette and onion rings crispy and delicious I was surprised with garlic bread it was similar to our country garlic bread not like you get usually garlic bread .let's go to our main food Us you can see it ir was paella with sea food . Us you can see it portions are quite big and it is more then enough for person .rice well cooked but lack of flavour in paella sea food it is so strong you can't feel other flavour in paella. Then other friend have risotto with sea food . Risotto it was creamy fool of flavour delicious well cooked thats is a start for Chef . And last to maracuya chicken skewer. I was missing skewer but it was look really good on plate chicken it was so delicious want to more and more flavour tender and juice thats it was best dish ot that day . Some fresh salads mix with some creamy souce and some balsamic it was good choice to elevate this to next level rice not over cooked it was perfect almost only was it was missing it was some souce for dip chicken but we ask waiter to get something for us he did it we got i chilli sauce it was so good and I was start dancing in my head I love spicy food . This is it about food. Alsome some good reviews about all staff who was serving us that day . They was so helpful and friendly they well deserved every tip for what they do big thank you to all staff . Place looks tidy and clean comfortable seats . You have tv for sport events too . Do I recommend to visit this place ? YES!! This was hands down the worst dining experience of my life. We m, a group of 6, booked 2 hrs before a Peter Kay concert and whilst we expected it to be busy we thought tapas would be a quick option. The restaurant was far from full and emptied out quickly while we were there as other tables got up and walked out in disgust. After a long initial wait and chasing someone down we finally had our order taken by a woman who spoke no English and asked if we spoke Spanish. We somehow (mainly through pointing and use of pigeon Spanish, which gave us that holiday feeling) ordered drinks and food at the same time so as to speed things up. The drinks took more than 30 mins and arrived one by one with 5 min gaps between each and often they were incorrect (a pink gin and tonic was served as a regular gin with flat lemonade) . The food was delayed much longer, probably an hour before the first dishes from time of ordering, and again came in dribs and drabs and arrived lukewarm. Despite the restaurant being mainly empty by them and we warned them 30 mins, 15 mins and 5 mins before we had to leave for the O2, nothing changed until suddenly 10 dishes arrived as we were leaving the table - many of which bore no resemblance to what we ordered. Some of our party ate nothing at all while others doubled down on the cold chorizo in vino of which we received multiple portions. Only after continued complaints were we told that many of their staff had phoned in sick that afternoon, and so they were struggling. we were not warned of this at the start, and there appeared to be plenty of staff present in the restaurant. Just nobody with a clue what was going on or any management with general competency.

I struggle to understand how this restaurant is still in business and cannot imagine it will be around for long. A shame as a good location, nice interior and lovely sounding menu. Just the worst...
