Oyo mehfil hotel I am staying in this hotel and this is the third time in last 3 years I came here. This time it's overtaken by Oyo and it has become worst, too many restrictions: My wife asked an extra towel and cleaner questioned why? We don't provide extra! Even though toilet tissues and body lotion was finished but the cleaner still didn't keep more for the day and next morning. We just came around 4:30 Pm a day before and the next day morning he asked my old mother to go to reception downstairs so that he can clean, my mother told him to clean while she sits on the chair but he didn't agree, my mother asked if it is fine if she sits outside the room, he shouldn't have any objection but he strictly ordered NO, if she want him to clean the room then she must go to reception!!! Too bad!!! No atticades, no respect to seniors, no respect to clients, no politeness!!! Just Unacceptable. In just 17 hours we were there, he said to my mother that there were no spots on the walls, your children did all this, my mother told him that no one touched walls and we didn't bring anything with us nor there is anything such which can let us make the spots on the walls all over the room and he shouldn't accuse us for nothing but he said, he won't say this to anyone but we should keep children carefully!! He said bedsheets can not be changed before 3 days!!! When I came, I was very much shocked listening to all this, I called the receptionist, and asked him if he can see and tell me about his feeling looking at all those hundreds of spots all over the walls if they look new or several months old but he was not wise enough to guess or feel it! I will try to meet the manager tomorrow and lodge complaint! We came to relax and spend good time in Southall but we got terribly tense and worried thinking about all these stupid and baseless accusations. We sincerely regret booking this third class hotel. Walls, lid and seat of comode is super dirty, full of spots, refer to photos. Soap holder is broken, shower doesn't distribute constant temperature water, one minute water is fine but next second it's burning hot again next minute it's cold. Garbage bags are in front of the lift in the corridor. A small chair and a small table in the bedroom room #104, not enough to keep even a single shopping bag of 5 kg. For a family room of 2 double beds a single chair is not at all sufficient! Bed size is even smaller than a queen size bed though prior to booking, I enquired over telephone, I was informed that they are king size beds, which was a lie. In the restaurant, breakfast is included but I was surprised when the waiter informed me that only 1 Prantha is offered per person which is not enough and it is no where mentioned!!! All are super rude! None of them knows how to respect the guest and host politely!! At reception boy has not enough knowledge about the surroundings and he couldn't guide well about the nearby route or he didn't want to!! Bedroom is too dark, not enough light, 20% spotlights of the bathroom are not working thus inadiuote light here as well! Bed sheet is torn!! HONESTLY I REGRET COMING TO THIS WORST HOTEL, I am a frequent traveler and I don't remember if I ever had this type of worst experience in any other 3 star hotel in UK and around the world in any of nearly 220 hotels I had stayed. I WILL GIVE 2 STARS ONLY TO THIS OYO MEHFIL HOTEL, WILL NEVER COME AGAIN AND I NEVER RECOMMEND TO ANYONE! I paid high price but got rudeness, disregard and unpleasant hosting and a dirty and unhygienic surrounding! Clients of the restaurant talk too loud, laugh and make too much noise till 1 am or even afterwards in the parking, meantime your sleep is already gone! I and my family spoiled our vacation staying in this rubbish hotel. TripAdvisor has limit of 5 MB only for attaching photos otherwise I have 40 photos to...
Read moreBooked via Booking.com as always do. Room rate seemed very good and the pictures and information were reassuring that this was a clean place. After all they were “Four in a bed winners”!!! This stay was a wedding anniversary getaway for us & I was very excited. I telephoned ahead to find out about checking and checkout. I specifically asked about late checkout as my husband has problems sleeping at night which meant he wouldn’t wake (if he had slept at all) so I asked about late. I was told twice confirmed that late checkout could be complimentary up to 1pm. After that a charge of £30 day rate would apply. I said that would be brilliant and we would like our checkout between 12noon to 1pm which the receptionist agreed. On the morning of checkout around 11.20am a man knocked our door and said we had to leave, checkout 11am and we were late, he needed to clean and change room. I said receptionist had allowed us until 1pm and he said no no checkout 11am, no one tell me, I give you 10 minutes”!!! (He was an Asian man). We collected our bags and left. When we got down to reception everywhere was locked up, no one was around in the hotel. There was a lock box to drop your room key in marked “express checkout “!!! |THE ROOM. For the price paid ok. Bed was comfortable, but cheap linen frayed duvet cover, old lumpy pillows. Headboard wooden, scratched old and dated. Bed lights shades were dirty old and broken. All furniture old, some broken, dusty inside and out, wardrobe especially dusty and dirty so couldn’t hang clothes. Curtains were full of dust and pelmet coming off. Window cills need a clean and round the windows. Skirting boards all round room were very dusty and dirty, this was first thing I noticed. Wallpaper had splash and stain marks on in various places and was old and tired looking. Television was hung on wall over other side of room which seemed too far away. It was covered in dust on screen and behind. I had to actually wipe the screen to make it clearer. There were cobwebs in the corner behind the tv. Bathroom looked like it had recently been replaced as there were filled in hole marks from an old shower rail. The shower basin had some hairs in which I had to run down before using. There was nowhere to put bottles of soap/shampoo. The cabinet door was stiff to close and when I tried to open it I couldn’t. I had to reach and grab the top to loosen it to get out. Towels were nicely presented on bed as swans (trying to impress), but I was glad of towels as forgot mine. Opened them out and they were old and very frayed around the edges and rough, but were adequate and useful. Toilet was in an awkward position that you had to sit sideways to fit as the wall and door were too close. In parts it was ok and what I paid was acceptable for basic, but cleanliness seriously needs attention. What I don’t understand is how this place won a “Four In The Bed” trophy!!! |As regards the parking it was stated that it was £5 per night to park in the car park at the rear. However I have found an entry in trip advisor where it states “Free Parking”. This needs clarifying and dealing with as contradicts. Breakfast was brought to room on a tray (due to Covid restrictions). Two bowls full of milk, two small portions of cornflakes, 2 small apple juice, two bananas, two apples, 2 pastries, 2 baby bell cheese. This was included in room rate. |It appears that housekeeping/cleanliness/room cleaning/linen care & general furnishings need looking at. They are obviously not checked by management after rooms are made up ready for customers. It is not obvious who or if there is any management involvement. Reception was open on checkin and then locked up. There was no staff on duty. If anyone had any problems there was an “emergency...
