I'm Lebanese and found this place incredibly disappointing and believe the whole place gives a bad name to Lebanon The staff is incredibly rude: we all walked in and there was no one to greet us, not a single member of staff in view for over 5 minutes, after waiting we found an empty table and sat down, suddenly a member of staff appeared and told us off for sitting down in that particular spot and rudely demanded us to move to another table "you should never sit down wherever you want you know?" Said in an incredibly condescending manner. After ordering our shishas the same member of staff said "I can't bring you these if you don't order drinks", we told him we were here for dinner as well and only wanted water but he refused to take our shisha order until we had ordered drinks that weren't water. So the shisha order was not taken because we didn't order drinks and he swiftly walks away angry even though we were in the middle of ordering food. (Literally walks away as one of us is mid sentence of what we'd like for dinner) I've never before seen a waiter with a superiority complex. After spotting a waitress we take our food order and are finally "allowed" to order the shishas. We had to ask 5 times for water from 3 staff members, every time we'd ask for something they'd look at us like we were scum and just walk away. When we finally got our water my friend asked for ice in her glass (6th time she asked for that) and the waitress just looks at her and walks off. After 10 minutes she asks the same waitress again for ice and she says "no we don't do that here you can't have ice for your glass". My friend then insisted and the waitress walked off angry and finally brought a glass with ice. It seems getting ice is like pulling teeth.. The food itself was nothing spectacular and mainly under seasoned. When we had all finished our food the staff did not bother to pick up the plates for 20 Minutes, the restaurant wasn't even full at this point. Every time someone walked into this place there was no staff to greet them, they'd sit down at a random empty table and whenever a staff member showed up they'd tell them to stand up and change tables (I don't understand why they'd do this, is it for the power trip of demanding people to change spots? If you need so much control over where others sit then maybe be present to seat them in the first place!) To top it all off you are paying £22 per shisha (which is highly overpriced for the location) and you get a plastic disposable pipe. Ridiculous. In conclusion the staff at this place is incredibly rude and should learn a thing or two about Lebanese hospitality and how to treat customers right. The price point is not worth it for what you get. The shisha is subpar and the food is average at best. I would never recommend this place and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI do not usually review any restaurants but in my case I feel it is my duty to warn anyone who is thinking about going to Mia.
This place is a safety hazard and I have reported them to the following authorities with regard to the fire and safety concerns after my visit: City of London
I was there in the upstairs shisha area with a group of 4. As the evening went on the place became fuller and fuller. As this place at this point is grossly overcrowded, (I have inquired with the in my complaint to the City of London) on how many guests they are allowed to serve) of the employee's dropped a piece of burning coal on my coat and scarf which left holes in both. He did not even warn me of what was happening and stood there while looking at my belongings. There was no help, no warning whilst there was still burning coal on my chair. Not even a courtesy apology when I pointed out that this was completely unsafe and showed him the resulting holes in my coat and scarf he offered to pay for my scarf.
As we were waiting for the bill one of the other employees dropped a tray of drinks on top of a table, this while 4 customers were seated at this table, leaving glass everywhere and completely soaking my friends.
Mind you this place as at this point this place is even more overcrowded which meant that staff is literately knocking over people's property and menu while walking around with tray of food, drinks and burning coals. When we were settling the bill I reminded the staff about the damage on my coat to which point they then called the manager.
After explaining what had happened to the manager, he took off to speak to the employee that had damaged my belongings. They then came back with a £20 pound note "in exchange" for my scarf. They wanted me to leave my scarf with them as they had paid me the £20 and proceeded to take the scarf out of my hands.
When I said no I am taking my scarf he invited me to speak with him in private after demeaning and intimidating me and my friends while claiming they are not liable for accidents. Which according to the following they are: Government UK Fire&Safety Guidelines they are.
At this point I started fearing for my safety. When I expressed my frustration to my friends he began to belittle my tone and then proceeded to ask for me to apologies to him. I left rejecting their £20 note which seemed to upset management even more. He then followed me to the door in another attempt to intimate me and my friends. I am honestly relieved I left this place relatively unharmed but I am leaving this to strongly advice anyone, especially any woman against visiting this establishment due to the lack of conduct and professionalism of staff and management.

Ā Ā Ā Read moreForced to share my bad experience this weekend. Second time for me that I come to this restaurant, the first time was with friends and it was great. My parents came to spend the weekend at home so I decided to bring them to this restaurant, bad idea. It was Saturday night, the restaurant was hosting a big group for a birthday from what I understood. The boss decides to set up the music as if we were in a nightclub and believe me I know what I say, but he may have forgotten that his activity is to be a restaurant, at least in the room where we were. Being in family we could not hear ourselves talking, and I do not abuse. One time, my husband went to see the bartender asking him to lower the volume, he replied that he did not manage (I do not blame this server who was also very nice and professional with us on the contrary and thank you to him for his kindness) so without result but the boss who was sitting next to us very well. A second time, I ask this gentleman to go down. What is he doing ? It increases the volume. We ordered appetizer and dish and we were on an aperitif. We decide to leave immediately because such a lack of respect can not be tolerated. As soon as that big gentleman saw that we were going to leave, very angry, he fell and very badly aroused me and took high by explaining me that there is a birthday. Dear Sir I am speaking to you, when you have a birthday, allow yourself to privatize your room if you think disturbing the welfare of others. I work in a coffee shop a hundred meters from this restaurant and I have always advised. I will never stay in this place again and will NOT recommend it to all my clients for this lack of respect and professionalism on the part of this gentleman. A big thank you to our waitress and bartender who were very...
