I don’t do reviews but…… 10 OUT OF 5 STARS!!! Unfortunately this was the last place we ate at on our trip. If it would have been the first, this would have been the only place we had been going to. YOU GUYS DON‘T UNDERSTAND HOW GOOD THEIR FOOD IS! If this restaurant would open up near where I live, I’d throw out my kitchen and eat there every day! I’d go to the gym with the only purpose to go eat there daily! Alessio and Luca are one of the kindest people and entrepreneurs I have ever met. They explained what their business is about and what they want to bring to their customers. NEAPOLITAN CUSINE. Not only do they make their own pasta and leave their bolognese cooking over 8hrs they, also bake delicious bread named „frisella“ after the family recipe. Completely nuts.. Honestly we haven’t eaten anything bad this weekend but I can confidently say that Mangio‘s can not only compete with the big London kitchens but can also win in comparison. By far… I really don’t know if I will ever eat this good again. I’ll consider coming back to London just to visit those 2 guys and their jaw dropping food.
GO VISIT THEM NOW! And tell them I said hi:)
P.s.: I had lasagne and came back to get another dish...
Read moreThe most authentic of experiences and food in an unassuming location. Very possibly the best pasta I have ever tried, not just in London, at an almost unbelievable price. The Italian owner/chef set up our table outside with the classic checkered table mat. It just felt so pleasant and homely.
Pasta cooked to perfection and perfect balance and coating of the creamy mushroom, butter and sage sauce without the truffle being too overpowering. I also sampled the Ragu' Napoletano. Too much am I usually disappointed with a bland ragu. This was exquisite. Deep and rich tomato sauce with layers of flavour clearly built up over a long simmer. I also very highly recommend a frisella. The house Frisella Mo' Mangio was a delight. Fresh, fragrant, and doused in quality olive oil. The tiramisu, also one of the best I have tried. Silky and smooth and perfect balance of cocoa powder, coffee, sponge and seemingly a higher quality Jersey cream.
It's not often I do such an in depth review, but Mo' Mangio deserves it. I will be returning to sample all...
Read moreOut of a very selfish reason, I'm kind of hesitant to recommend this little hidden gem in East London because its beauty lies to a certain extent in its anonymity. Before my visit, I sent an email to make a reservation and the restaurant was happy to oblige. On the day of our meal, we were surprised to find that, although they are primarily a takeaway restaurant, we were pampered like VIPs, with tablecloths on the tables, for example. Their food was also meticulously presented, such as the lasagne with black truffles, which had more black truffles than you would believe. Their home-made pasta is so fresh and al dente and you really can’t ask more at this surprisingly good price. Their desserts are also above par. Everyone in this little shop, from the chef to the waiters, is very friendly, they'll chat to you and share their dreams of making the shop even better. I wholeheartedly wish these young people a thriving business while they can retain their niche such as authenticity and...
