Mooca Café — Restaurant in London

Delightful, friendly people! The coffee was good too and the shop and loo were clean, tables in and out but our takeaway, besides the coffee, were the lovely couple that own the shop. We were not paying attention and just did not see the Cash Only sign on the register and all we had were American dollars and euros. The gentleman kindly took our $20 and gave us $10 back actually! Then we had a great conversation about Ted Lasso and the effect on the community as well as the relatively new interest about the show in the area and England as a whole. They had framed items from the show as well as t-shirts, one of which Jason Sudeikis had thousands of printed up at the end of filming just to give to folks in the community to say thanks for putting up with filming! We stumbled upon this little restaurant/café and were absolutely blown away—not just by the food, which was to die for, but by the kindness and hospitality of the staff. They operate on a cash-only basis, and since I didn’t have pounds, they kindly accepted my euros without hesitation.

What really stood out was how accommodating they were with my mom’s complicated order. She asked for all sorts of customizations, some of which weren’t even on the menu, and the gentleman taking our order handled it all with patience, grace, and a genuine smile. He was an amazing person—so warm and welcoming, it felt like we were visiting old friends.

We found this cafe quite by chance having also found by chance a wickedly expensive parking spot on Richmond Green. Cash only caused a moment or two of panic, but once we realised we had enough of the readies I ordered two baguettes, salads, coffee, and absolutely delicious little filo pastries stuffed with lemon cream. Really pleasant and helpful staff brought the food to our table outside,fed the dogs with sausages , and looked after us well.
