My wife and I have been customers at this pub for many years as we’re local to the area. We recently popped in on a Saturday afternoon with a friend and our newborn baby. After buying a full round, an incredibly rude member of the bar staff stormed over to us to tell us we had to get out immediately as the pub has a ‘no under 18s under any circumstances’ policy. The bar staff had seen us enter with a pram and then served us drinks, and we hadn’t seen any signage, so we had not known this was their policy. Rather than come over to us and explain calmly, the young male member of staff came overly aggressively and basically behaved like our baby was contraband and told us we had to leave immediately. I have recommended this pub to dozens of friends and family, and will definitely tell them all to avoid in the future. Genuinely one of the best experiences working with a venue for an event. Nothing was too much trouble, the pre-planning and communication prior to our event was prompt and helpful and so easy. On the day, the room was setup perfectly, plenty of seating, lovely touches to make it festive and personalised. The tab setup was efficient, the drinks were great and the team could not have been more welcoming. It's the perfect cosy pub for a Christmas party and I'm so glad we could book the room. We ordered our own food in and it was no trouble at all, the team even cleared up all the pizza boxes which was so kind! As a frequent visitor of the pub anyway, this was the cherry on top of what I already knew to be a great pub! I have been a local at this pub for the last few years and love it. I never came here before the refurbishment around 3 years ago and now I'm part of the furniture.

Lockdown was very tough on this place but it has bounced back with style and being back in this week since lockdown easing, it feels like I've never been away.

The staff are very friendly and I always get a warm welcome and stellar service everytime!

Blows all local competition out of the water and is a place where you can easily sit and spend more time than initially planned and love every minute. Very cosy and great atmosphere. I look forward to this pub carrying on to be part of my life for years to come.
