A Masterclass in Hospitality: Jack, The Hidden Gem of Nando’s Camberwell
Dining at Nando’s is always a pleasure, but today’s visit to the Camberwell branch was nothing short of exceptional—thanks to a young man named Jack, whose impeccable service elevated our experience from a simple meal to a masterclass in hospitality.
Upon arrival, the restaurant was bustling with energy, a testament to its popularity. Despite the sheer volume of guests, Jack greeted our party of 20 with warmth and efficiency, seamlessly orchestrating our seating arrangements while ensuring we felt welcome and at ease. His ability to balance professionalism with genuine warmth was instantly apparent, setting the tone for what would become a truly memorable experience.
Jack’s attentiveness was unparalleled. Before we had even settled, he had anticipated our needs, providing menus, directing us to the handwashing station, and ensuring we were familiar with the ordering process. But what truly distinguished Jack was his proactive approach—without prompting, he brought over additional plates, cutlery, and an array of condiments tailored to our preferences. His attention to detail was exquisite, as was his intuitive understanding of service flow.
For the younger members of our party, Jack went the extra mile, effortlessly managing the self-serve drink station and even carrying glasses over for them, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience. Despite juggling multiple tasks and attending to a full restaurant, his presence remained reassuringly constant, appearing precisely when needed yet never intrusive.
Our food arrived swiftly—again, a testament to the efficiency of the team—and Jack was back, seamlessly delivering our meals while continuing to provide stellar service to other guests. His ability to read the room, anticipate needs, and execute with grace is a rare talent in the hospitality industry.
As someone who has frequented Nando’s establishments across the country, I can confidently say that Jack exemplifies the gold standard of customer service. His professionalism, warmth, and genuine dedication to guest experience deserve to be celebrated at the highest level. Nando’s should not only recognize but also nurture such extraordinary talent—Jack is not just a great employee; he is the embodiment of what makes a brand unforgettable.
To the senior leadership at Nando’s, I strongly urge you to acknowledge and commend Jack for his outstanding service. His skill set, intuition, and ability to create a seamless dining experience are assets that should be championed within your company. In an industry where true hospitality can often feel transactional, Jack transforms it into an art.
Jack, from the bottom of my heart, thank you for making our visit truly magical. You have set a new benchmark for service excellence, and I have no doubt that your future in hospitality—or any field you choose—will be nothing short of extraordinary.

Read moreWorst customer experience I have ever had at this Nando’s. We walk in and it just seems to be chaos with no host to greet us and let us know what’s going on. There seems to be one queue for people ordering Takeaway and the same queue for people waiting to be seated.
I was standing in the queue for 5 minutes before someone came over and asked if we wanted a table. I needed a table for 3 people and was told it would be a five minute wait, 2 minutes later the host took the person behind me which was a party of three and seated them before us which makes no sense because my party was three people also. When I quested the host as to why they have been seated before us, he didn’t know what to say and then made up some lame excuse saying they were here before me which again makes no sense because they were behind me in the queue.
In all the Nando’s have been to the service have been uniformed in a sense that there has been a host to greet you as you walk in the store, and at the very least notify how long it will take for a table to be available to be seated.
If everything I wrote above isn’t enough I had to wait 30 minutes for my food to arrive, people on other table who arrived after my party got their food.
Never again will I go to...
Read moreFirst time I have ever tried Nando's. It was a busy Friday night but after a 10 minute wait we were given a table. I was invited to use their online ordering system and we placed our order at 7.30pm. Drinks and starter arrived quite quickly, but 25 mins later we were still waiting for main courses. We told the head waiter/boss and he said he'd go check. After another 15 mins, still no food and we asked the other waiter what was going on and he was rather rude and gruffly said he'd check again. Eventually, after nearly an hour, our food arrived and it was actually quite nice, albeit not as hot as it could have been. When we left I politely spoke to the boss/waiter and suggested perhaps their ordering system might be faulty due to our excessive wait and the fact we seemed to be served out of turn. As we went out the door, he chased after us and said if we gave him details of the order, he could refund us in full. I was slightly pleasantly surprised and accepted his offer and an hour later the refund was processed, so all in all quite a satisfactory resolution. Kudos to him and food was good. They just need to sort out priorities on table...
