This place has shot up to be one of my favorite Chinese restaurant in London. Unlike it name that symbolizes an Anglicization of traditional Chinese food, New Fortune Cookie restaurant does a good job in striking a great balance between catering to those who look for typical Chinese food and globalized Chinese food. My favorite dish in this place is their roast charsiu and crispy pork belly. I have been here twice before but we decided against not eating as they had ran out of these roast pork meats. Luckily this time around ,they had both meats and we were really happy with the crispiness and flavour. I can see why they run out of both early as customers seems to love these items. If you love these roast meats like how I do, maybe call ahead and ask or arrive no later than 8pm (even then the risk is high). Their lobster noodles is good too and we paid around 50gbp as market price. It is really messy though so be prepared. Maybe not do this if you are dating 😄. Their special fried rice and wonton soup were fabulous as well. They perfectly wrapped up our dining experience. We will definitely try their place next time.

While New Fortune Cookie may not be for everyone, my wife and I absolutely love it. One of the few places where you can get good congee in London (hint: it's not on the menu, but there's a handwritten sign in the window), we come here for the friendly service (especially once they get to know you) and delicious, flavourful dishes. The restaurant is often crowded and can feel a bit rushed, but the dishes are really very good. After spending nearly four years living in Singapore, my wife and I had been on the lookout for a good Chinese restaurant that didn't break the bank; this place certainly delivered. New Fortune Cookie may not have the upscale feel of Royal China next door, but if you're willing to brave a bit of chaos on the ground floor, the payoff is definitely worth it in both taste and expense. The wide range of regulars are also fun to dine amongst. Some favorite dishes include: black bean beef hor fun noodles, crispy Peking duck, minced pork and French beans, chili prawns, Singapore vermicelli, ma bo tofu, special fried rice... The list goes on.

One of the best Chinese restaurant in London and in a good location right next to Queensway station. Their Salt and Pepper dishes were really good! They definitely do the best Salt and Pepper Soft Shell Crabs, was perfectly fried with nice flavours. The other recommended dishes are the Lobsters with Ginger and Spring Onions with Noodles. Perfectly cooked to perfection and the lobsters were fresh and meaty. Also their Roast Duck is a must get whenever you come here it’s simply the best, packed with lots of flavours. Customer service was great too. Prices were decent too not as expensive as others. Only one problem was that the toilets are located in the basement which isn’t as convenient. Other than that it is highly recommended! This place get very busy especially over the weekend so make sure you book a table in advance to avoid disappointment.

have rarely felt compelled to write a review like this, but my wife and I experienced blatant racial discrimination at this establishment, and it is beyond unacceptable.

After attending a formal event, my lovely wife and I, both dressed in elegant attire, arrived for dinner. We waited patiently for a table, despite the fact that a perfectly available table for four sat empty. Instead of seating us, the staff directed us to wait by the door, as though we were invisible.

We waited 15 minutes, watching as other tables remained vacant. Then, another couple walked in. To our shock, we witnessed the server discreetly tap the man on the leg and whisper for them to take the table—the very same one that had been "unavailable" for us. It was a deliberate, covert act to hide the preferential treatment they were giving the Chinese couple over us.

When I politely pointed out that I had seen what the server did, she pretended not to know we had been waiting. The entire staff glanced toward the entrance, fully aware that we had been standing there the whole time. Yet, instead of addressing their obvious bias, they dismissively told us, "It won’t be long," as if we hadn’t already been pushed aside.

We waited another 20 minutes—nearly 40 minutes in total—while multiple Asian couples were seated before us. The pattern was undeniable, the bias unmistakable. It was demoralizing, infuriating, and deeply disappointing to be treated as though we were less worthy of a seat at the table simply because we were not Asian.

Eventually, we had no choice but to leave, humiliated and angered. It has been a long time since I’ve felt the sting of racial discrimination so openly displayed, and it is beyond disheartening that in this day and age, such prejudice is still alive in places meant to serve all people.

If you value dignity, fairness, and respect, I strongly urge you to avoid this restaurant. No one should have to experience racial bias when all they want is a meal and a welcoming environment. This was not just bad service—it was an ugly reminder that discrimination still exists in places where it should never belong. We went acrossed the street and got a table in literally 1...

If I could give this place 0 I certainly would Firstly me and my friend were greeted with a very blunt and careless energy, the menus was quite literally thrown on our table and tablecloths on table were very dirty. We ordered and food came out extremely fast I would say about 5 mins after we ordered which made me a little sceptical as I assumed maybe it was reheated or something. During service we felt a lot of constant stares from staff and dirty looks also had noticed every table had received a fortune cookie but us? We was the only black people in the restaurant so felt very dismissive. When approached with the bill we wasn't happy with the service so we asked for it to be taken off, in which the lady replied ‘No’ and caught an attitude with me. So I explained to her that I wasn’t happy with the service and she proceeded to argue with me for a few mins. She then called over her manager who came and argued with us some more then stormed off like a child and went of to talk to the staff in their language whilst laughing at us, we calculated the 12.5% off ourselves just to be sure and when he returned with the bill it was £3 over what the total should of been so I explained and showed him the correct amount he started huffing and puffing saying ‘I taken off now’ after a few minutes of his complaining he decided to mention a takeaway box fee so I said to him next time please explain that as I was happy to pay it but he was adamant that was the total with the 12.5% off. When he left we said our thanks and left with kindness the man said ‘don’t come back’ and ‘I not happy’ most definitely my worst experience in a restaurant I also have had food poisoning since I dined in this place and had left me with a really bad...

As long as you sell Chinese food, use Chinese words, speak Chinese language(Cantonese included!!!) you have to respect CHINESE! This is the first time for me to write a comment for a restaurant. I feel really disappointed to the service. Ever since we came into the restaurant, we have said a lot of times of thank you to the waitress and showed our highest respect to them. However, the waitress just ignored us and let us waited for a long time. They RUDELY asked us to wait with an offensive hand gesture✋ which made us feel really uncomfortable and disrespected. The dishes were served quick but they were placed hard and randomly on the table and we have to replace them by ourselves, we said many times of thank you but no response at all, even no friendly smile. Before we pay the bill, all the conversations were completed in MANDARIN. According to the bad experience we refused to pay the service fee and began to speak English. They asked why we don’t want to pay the service fee I said that I don’t think the service I received deserve this. They show me the menu and told me if I don’t want to pay the service fee we have to tell them in advance… I said we have the right not to pay the fee when we do not receive proper service. The waitress asked: “who gave you the right not to pay? “ That’s really ridiculous! Then she poured all the food we have packed on the table and said if you do not pay the service fee then you can’t pack the food 😡 I have never seen such rude waitress in my lifetime. The most important thing is that she told us “do not dine here anymore“ in Chinese lightly, it seems that she doesn’t want the customers who do not know about Chinese to understand this sentence! REALLY...
