Detailed review:
Visited this store approx at 11.45am I was the only person on the store at the time... minutes after customers came pouring in thick and fast .
WOW ...First of all I was overwhelmed by the vast amount of choice! I was like a kid in a candy store! Didn't know where to look or what to choose! Eveything looked so...delectable... had to tell the ladies to give me some more time as I was literally stunned... I've never visited a carribean takeaway so inviting..well stocked , clean, tempting and with such inviting staff ! I was in heaven!
I opted for stew chicken with white rice and sweet chilli wings on the side. The stew chicken was outstanding - well seasoned and perfectly cooked, the veg ( steamed cabbage) was fresh and crisp - just how I like it, the wings were tender and bursting with flavour although left one wing untouched because it was too bruised for my liking, but thats me being extra picky . I observed that the salmon rice was popular and a friend confirmed that it was her 'go-to' dish so will be trying this next time.
The prices are super reasonable, staff were accompanying and the food is well packed. I think I paid £6.50 for the container pictured and few pounds more for the side of wings which was more than satisfying.
Based on my first-time visit I would...

The food displays were visually appealing, and the establishment maintained a clean and well-stocked environment. The menu offered a diverse selection of Caribbean dishes. The food has far to much pepper not everyone can eat it like that. My order included fish fritters, lobster tail, salmon, rice, and cabbage. I consumed the fish fritters and lobster tail, both of which were palatable. However, within a few hours, I experienced severe gastrointestinal distress, including vomiting. Given that I had not consumed any other food for at least 24 hours prior, I attribute the illness to the meal. While I cannot definitively identify the specific cause, all consumed items were regurgitated. Based on this experience, I suspect food poisoning. Therefore, I cannot recommend a return visit. The establishment is wheelchair accessible, and off-street parking is available with metered...
Read moreI first heard about this place on Twitter. Then a friend mentioned it to me. While in Brixton for an event yesterday, I thought I’d finally give it a try.
My first mistake was going after 7pm on a Saturday - there was hardly anything left! Gutted. Lesson for next time, go earlier.
My second mistake was not being fast enough to order. I didn’t understand the queuing system, who to order with, or what I was going to order - as the choice looked vast. While I was faffing around someone who came in after me ordered before me. Another lesson learned! Get in there before someone else does, no dilly dallying.
I went in craving peppered steak or curry goat but they’d sold out of both so I ended up going for the curried prawns w/ white rice & a bit of plantain. It was sooooo good! Enjoyed every single mouthful. Absolutely no regrets that I didn’t get my first choice.
I will defo be going back. I’m looking forward to working my way through their menu and yes, next time I will...
