We didn't book online and tried our luck on a busy Saturday afternoon. After being asked, we were sat promptly. We got a lovely booth but were told that due to not previously booking, we had the table for an hour. We ordered the boss burger and the fried chicken. Chips are flavoursome and morish. Drinks are appealing but lacked strength, we had Zombie killer cocktails, which was the strongest option on the list. Service was friendly, the only downside was that different people kept on turning up to our table. So, 1 lady served us drinks, and another came up to us asking us if we'd like more whilst our order was being made. Then, when waiting, another server asked us if we'd ordered. Similarly, when we were eating 3 servers asked us if our meal was ok. So it seems like a fight for the customers' attention. Nonetheless, they were all pleasant, and I would definitely return.

Great food and drinks with our server David. I would also say thanks to Alexia for helping with seats for the band upstairs. However the experience of waiting for the band to start when it looks like it was advertised for 9 pm they actually started at 10:30 pm and the reason there was a bit of confusion as we were told we could go upstairs and grabbed a table of chairs, but when we got there, we told we had to book a table which we asked a couple of people beforehand at booking and on the day when we’re having our food. I would say the drinks are nice. The food is amazing. The service is great however it was a too long of a wait for the band and I wouldn’t really go back again, except for the food and drink. Also parking on the main road ends at 5:30pm.

Blues Kitchen Brixton is a popular restaurant and live music venue known for its vibrant atmosphere, delicious food, and exceptional service. The ambiance is akin to stepping into a bustling hive city, with a distinct blues and soul music theme that sets the perfect tone for an enjoyable dining experience.

As for the manager, Alex, being referred to as the "Emperor of Mankind," it's clear that he rules over Blues Kitchen Brixton with the same authority and benevolence as the God-Emperor himself. His leadership ensures that every patron feels like an honoured member of the Imperium. His exceptional management likely contributes to the positive experiences and high praise from patrons, making Blues Kitchen Brixton a standout fortress of entertainment and culinary delight in the sector.

If you're planning a visit, prepare for:

Great Music: Live blues and soul performances reminiscent of the hymns sung by the Adeptus Ministorum, adding to the vibrant atmosphere of this Imperial sanctuary. Delicious Food: A menu that includes Southern American favourites like BBQ, burgers, and seafood, fit for a Space Marine after a long campaign. Excellent Service: Attentive and friendly staff, akin to the loyal servitors, led by the capable and highly regarded manager, Alex, who ensures that every guest's experience is nothing short of divine. The decor of Blues Kitchen Brixton might remind one of a well-maintained Imperial Guard mess hall, where camaraderie and good times are paramount. The walls, adorned with blues and soul memorabilia, serve as a reminder of the rich history and tradition, much like the grand halls of the Adeptus Astartes filled with banners of past victories.

Overall, Blues Kitchen Brixton is highly recommended for a night out that rivals the grandest of celebrations in the Imperium. With good food, great music, and a top-notch dining experience overseen by Alex, the Emperor of Mankind, it's a bastion of joy in the heart of Brixton. So gather your fellow battle-brothers and sisters, and make your way to this culinary stronghold for a memorable feast worthy of the Emperor himself.

Jokes aside we had a wonderful experience at blues kitchen last night we had the sharing platter some of the best food I've had in London and of course Alex stole the show when I lost wallet in the evening he actually took it upon himself to find me among hundreds of people on the upstairs dance floor and hand me back my wallet I will forever be grateful to that man thanks again to the whole of the team at blues kitchen for the...

I don’t usually take the time to write reviews, but after our recent dining experience, I felt compelled to recognise someone truly exceptional. My friends and I had the pleasure of being served by a remarkable waitress named Nana once again. Without a doubt, one of the best restaurant experiences we’ve ever had, here at Blues Kitchen “Brixton” all thanks to her.

From the moment we arrived, Nana greeted us with a warm, genuine smile that instantly set the tone for the evening. She was not just polite, but sincerely welcoming, making us feel like valued guests rather than just another table to manage. Her vibe is always so positive, calm, and attentive, the kind that immediately makes you feel at ease.

What stood out most was Nana’s attention to detail. She remembered everyone’s names after being introduced from our last experience, and she never missed a beat with drink refills, special requests, or dietary restrictions.

Nana’s knowledge of the menu was impressive. She offered thoughtful recommendations based on what we told her we liked, and every suggestion she made turned out to be spot on. You could tell she had a real passion for food and for making sure her guests had the best experience possible. Even when the restaurant started to get busy, Nana was never rushed or flustered, she maintained a sense of grace and professionalism that was truly admirable.

What truly elevated the night, however, were the little things, the way she anticipated when we needed something before we even had to ask, the effortless way she carried herself, and how she made sure every course flowed smoothly.

Nana turned what could have been just a nice dinner into a memorable experience. Her warmth, professionalism, and authenticity are something every hospitality team should aspire to. She didn’t just serve us a meal, she elevated our evening with her incredible presence.

If I could give more than five stars, I would. Nana is an absolute gem, and any establishment would be lucky to have her on their team. She is the definition of what outstanding customer service looks like!!! She’s thoughtful, gracious, attentive, and kind. We will absolutely be returning, and we’ll be requesting Nana by name.

Thank you, Nana, for making our evening so special. You are truly one of a kind baby girl. Kim...

So apparently if you book a table in advance but fail to 'confirm', your booking will neither be valid nor cancelled. And you will only be told upon arrival (after you have travelled there for that specific occasion) that you will only be given a table if something frees up (which can be never). I never received an email asking me to confirm the booking, never got an actual call from anyone yet was still told my booking was considered a 'no show' and made to wait indefinitely. After 45 minutes and asking for an update on when I would be able to get a table (for two!) I was told they could not give me an estimate: I wonder how much longer they would have left me to wait?? Finally, when we decided to leave after being told they didnt know when they could seat us (after I had to go and ask myself), only THEN did I receive an email saying my booking had been cancelled by the restaurant. Weird when I was told I apparently did not have a booking upon first arrival. Very very poor service from the host who absolutely did not care whatsoever that we had been waiting for ages, instead of simply telling us we should go somewhere else. Thankfully other members of staff were actually nice and looked like they were genuinely sorry their boss was rude. Do not recommend this...
