My friends booked this restaurant for my birthday and from arrival, it all went down hill with the service. Firstly, I feel it important to not that while I myself was 30mins late, the rest of the guests were all on time for the 7pm booking.
I arrived to see all my guests squashed around 2 small round tables (there were 11 of them) even though my friend had booked a table. Apparently when the first person got there, she was seated at our original table (which was on the more attractive side of the restaurant and perfect for the amount we had coming) only to then be moved to the round tables on the shish side of the restaurant. She had spoken to the manager to fix this before I came because it was my 30th birthday dinner and I admitted am not as rational when it comes to things like that. They were basically sitting there until I came (7:30pm) to which I was informed about the situation and immediately spoke to a member of staff to see what their solution would be because no way were we sitting there yet we actually booked a table. 15mins later, the cleared a few of the square shisha tables and sat our group there (under the blazing cold AC fans) and were asked to turn the ASlC down as we were there to eat, not smoke and this didn’t happen. Now let’s fast forward to the food situation… they requested a preorder on the phone of the main dishes and anything else we wanted however said we cannot take things off the order but can add if we want on the night. Already there was a problem with my guests adding starters to their meals which rattled me a little because they clearly lack communication with management. It’s also important to note although we had sent them the preorder list well within their requested time, they kept asking to look at the preorder list that was sent as if they didn’t have it. The next issue was the consistency of which people’s food was coming out was odd. 4 guests who ordered lamb chops and truffle mash had their chops sitting in front of them a good 15mins before finally getting their mash. So as you can imagine, their food was cold.
The final straw for me was my vegan friend’s meal! Backstory: the person organising the meal with the restaurant had to chase a manager 3 times to discuss iff they could provide a vegan option as they actually don’t offer any on the menu (in 2024 where there’s so many vegans). She was told by a member of management on the phone that the chef said it’s possible to provide temporary cauliflower with most of the sides as they were vegan friendly. This was agreed and added to the preorder. We are all eating our mains and I look over and noticed my vegan friend was just eating the same bowl of chips from us having our starters so I asked our waiter where the vegan meal is. The waiter bought the manager over who informed us they cannot provide a vegan option so as you can imagine, I lost! 😡 I wont go into details as to what happened but the manager working that night did come up with a solution and also gave her the meal for free along with about 10 apologies and assurance that he will find out who the manger in charge was that night in what I assume was an attempt to calm down the situation without actually following through.
Till this day, I still haven’t gotten the name of the manager who initially said they could provide a vegan option for one of my guests. The only smooth part they could manage was the paying of the bill (figures).
The overall food and the costly price for it just wasn’t good enough to suffice for the worst service I’ve ever had from...
Read moreI've never felt the need to write a negative review about a restaurant, normally if I have a bad experience, I'll pay, leave and never go back. But this experience was by far the worst I've ever had therefore leaving this review.
I had an absolutely awful and the worst possible experience at 9 Lounge, and I would strongly advise anyone to avoid this place at all costs. My wife and I were enjoying our conversation when the waiter accidentally dropped beef short rib meat juice and sauce all over herself, the table and her phone, getting into the hardware and cpu. The waiter did nothing but throw some blue roll on the table and walk away—no apology, no effort to clean any thing up or make things right. At least some wipes would've helped...
When we raised the issue with another staff member, the first thing she said was 'your phone is waterproof', despite liquid entering the hardware through the cracks. She then brushed us off and said, “don’t worry, your phone will be backed up,” as if that somehow made up for the fact that we were now looking at a £1200 bill for a new phone. The manager’s response was even worse—when we asked for assistance, he said, “what do you want me to do?” before begrudgingly offering to take off just one main course as a form of compensation.
After all this, the staff completely ignored us for the next hour. No check-ins, no apologies, nothing. When we complained again, the other staff member Iqbal was a bit more understanding but it seemed as if his hands were tied. But at least he tried to diffuse the situation. The manager was completely neglecting our table (probably didn't want to deal with the situation), cowering behind his staff and avoiding any attempt at making amends. He even passed off the card machine to his colleague when he noticed it was our table. To top it off, the food was cold by the time we finally got to eat it, and they refused to take it off the bill, even though we’d been completely neglected. The bill still came up to £60 after they took off £39 for the beef short ribs, yet in actual fact I left with a £1260 bill if you consider buying my wife a new iPhone...
This place is a joke. The staff couldn’t care less about customer service, and they made no effort to fix a situation that they caused. I truly believe these glowing reviews are pressed for by the staff, probably because there is an incentive from the owners/management to do so. A place with these prices in Greenwich at the Raddison Hotel shouldn't hold itself back with such incompetent staff, and being stingy over taking off £10 for 2 red-bulls. When asking to speak to the owners or more authoritative staff, we were told they were unreachable at any cost. So great accountability...
Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else — you’ll regret stepping foot in 9 Lounge. I recommend Banc in North London, Colony in East London if you're ever looking for a higher end...
Read morewhen we arrived for our booking for 8:30 last night. We were told they have moved our booking to 8:45, without any communication mind you. I wasn’t fussy so I decided to wait 15 more mins. Anyways, fast forward, we get assisted by one of the hosts (lovely girl btw), she takes us up and and as soon as you walk in there’s barely any space to stand (after waiting downstairs, people were having to wait another 5-10 mins to be seated to their table.
The music was so loud, I understand it’s a lounge and advertised heavily as a lounge. But we were sat in the restaurant and the music was unbearable, my friend and I could barely hear eachother and you could barely hear the waiter or waitress when they’re taking your order.
As as soon we walked in, it’s all dark themed interior with dim light setting and loud music on top of that. One of the hostess, she came to get us but it being dark and the music being so loud I didn’t hear her or see her in the midst of all the people standing around in the queue waiting to be sat.
The hostess (wearing a long black dress, long black hair). She was incredibly rude. Rolling her eyes and walked away huffing and puffing. Her colleague even looked at us with embarrassment.
Anyways she sat us down by the bar, where we had to wait more to be assigned to our table 😂.
We have been there for a good 15 mins (from our 2 hour booking window) now just waiting to be assigned.
We get to our table, we were left to ourselves with a menu as you do. It is now 9:17pm (33 mins in to our 2 hour slot) and no waiter or waitress had come to us to check on us or to even take our food or drinks order. I will be so real, at this point my friend and I were browsing through other restaurants because it was just so awful here.
Eventually my friend had to ask one of the waiters walking past to take the order as we were starving at this point. He was lovely and polite.
We order quite a lot of food and it was all delicious except the truffle mash which was no flavour no salt but that’s my personal preference though. I like my salt lol.
I can’t find anything else positive to say about my experience other than the food. It was so obnoxious having to eat with loud music like you’re at some club. If I want to be around rude waitress and loud music I’d just go to my local pub.
Its very TikTok hyped and the choice of music was TikTok based too. Just wasn’t pleasant.
If you’re someone who wants to fine dine, this place isn’t the one for you truthfully. It’s heavily marketed for young people who wants to go get drunk and be around loud music and loud people and post on TikTok and insta.
I had very high expectations before I came and unfortunately after this (first) experience I definitely won’t be...
