Strange that I haven't written any reviews of this place. Well, if you are around the area and wondering whether you want to come here, let me give you a few tips.
This place used to be super super popular for steamboat/hot pot because they have a buffet menu for that. They also have some karaoke rooms upstairs although I have never been inside and have no idea how new the songs are and the environment in general.
I have been here for the food 3 times over as many years and I think for my latest visit the quality of the food has gone downhill. Now, the draw of Sichuan food is the chilli. Expect to eat really spicy food here and beware if you have a sensitive stomach.
The only reason I come here is to eat frog's legs. My first two visits they were so fresh, so tasty that I had a good impression of this place. However, this latest visit we had a bit of a disagreement with the manager/chef as we thought the eel that we ordered tasted a bit off. The chef was a bit indignant and came out to speak to us insisting that the fish is ordered fresh in every day. To be honest, we were not about to argue with this because we wanted to get out of the restaurant with arms and legs intact. However, when 3 people at the same table thought the food was a bit off, and yes we have ordered this dish before from this restaurant, you might have thought that maybe give us the benefit of the doubt.
However, they let us change the dish and we ordered something else. We continued the rest of the meal although I felt a bit subdued and my stomach was giving me queasy feelings that I don't think I will come back for a long time, if ever.
There probably was a good reason why this particular restaurant only has a few tables occupied for the lunch hour, when you compare this place to Seikai down the road, which is always packed with people wanting Chinese dim sum/food in general.
Conclusion: try this place if you are...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreToday I took my mother out to eat for mothers day and by far this was the worst chinese food weāve ever eaten. She had the chinese fried rice which was bland and tasteless, it was like boiled rice with bits added in. After asking for chilli oil to try and make it eatable, what came was mostly oil than chilli and so it didnt help a bit. The rice hardly had barely any chicken and a few shredded carrots, not even any peas which is standard in any other chinese restaurant in the country.
I ordered the singapore fried rice which was YELLOW! there is no genuine chinese restaurant that serves singapore fried rice the colour yellow which was my first clue of how it would be, also it wasnt at all spicy and did not taste as it shouldve done.
We also foolishly ordered the ribs which were tiny cut up pieces of meat, im not even sure if it was pork, that was mainly bone than meat. We ended up not finishing our food and packing it away so that we could refry it at home and make it edible.
As people who eat chinese regularly on special occasions at places like tai tip mein and red lion, we know what to expect, weāve never been to a restaurant and had a bad word to say about their food till today, its like the chef didnt even try. My mum actually complained to the woman serving us who came up with an obviously fake excuse that the chef who usually cooks for them is on holiday and that she agrees with us and ānotices the difference in qualityā herself, which just tells us that other people complain about the food.
Our biggest regret today is paying for it, for the price we had to pay for such rubbish, we should have just stood up and walked out. Our mothers day meal was ruined.

Ā Ā Ā Read moreWent to this restaurant for a friend's surprise birthday dinner. Upon arriving I asked one of the waiters for where the reversed seats were he just rudely pointed upstairs and turns out that there more than one room so I called a friend who told us the correct room.
We were waiting for the birthday girl to come so that we can order. I find most of the waiters but one to be patient. I am not too sure if it was because we were a group of young black professionals or you thought we were noisy like everybody thinks of black groups. In central London restaurants usually join in on the fun but here I felt the hostility and made it feel a bit uncomfortable.
Even when the room was quiet they were shouting like we were kids. Once again only one waiter of the waiters was civil with us. He spoke and dealt with us like we were human beings. One of the waiter also decided to put us on snapchat LIKE REALLY?! We cannot look at the menu and discuss within us what we want to order.
I do not think I will come to this restaurant again due to the above whereas the customer is NOT always right in real life, for one of your waiters to walk out on us is not acceptable. The occasion was a celebration and we were in a good mood but there was also a regret for our choice because I have never been treated like that in a restaurant before.
For the record that one star is for the waiter who was nice to us and gave us our food and drinks with respect however I will not be return to this restaurant again.
The food was OK but the service is terrible from...
