Chaoshan beef hotpot, originating from the Chaoshan region in southern China, is renowned for its focus on freshness and simplicity. Unlike other hotpot styles that rely heavily on rich or spicy broths, Chaoshan beef hotpot celebrates the natural flavors of the beef itself. Thinly sliced beef of various cuts is paired with a light, flavorful broth, allowing diners to savor the tenderness and unique textures of each piece. It’s a culinary tradition that highlights purity and freshness, making it a standout experience among hotpot styles.
This new restaurant in London brings the authentic Chaoshan beef hotpot experience to the city, and it’s a gem worth discovering. From the moment we walked in, the staff greeted us with warm smiles and were incredibly attentive throughout our visit. They guided us through the menu, introducing the different cuts of beef and even sharing the best cooking times for each one to ensure we got the perfect texture and flavor.
The beef here is impressively fresh, with a rich marbling that melts in your mouth. Each cut has its own character – from the delicate, tender slices to the chewier, more flavorful cuts. For those who have tried the numbing spice of Sichuan-style hotpot or the savory simplicity of Beijing lamb hotpot, Chaoshan beef hotpot offers a completely different yet equally enjoyable experience.
The light broth is a perfect complement to the beef, enhancing its natural flavor rather than overpowering it. You can also customize your dipping sauces to suit your preferences, adding an extra layer of enjoyment to the meal.
Overall, this restaurant offers a true taste of Chaoshan in a modern and welcoming setting. Whether you’re new to Chaoshan beef hotpot or looking to relive the authentic flavors of home, this spot is not to be missed. A fantastic addition to London’s...
Read moreI have been here twice as of now and can say its a nice experience. Been in both a large group and as a couple. You are instructed on what to do and halal items are listed or given as a separate menu. The selection of meat is nice and fresh. We got the leaner meats with less fat. I would say there is a selection of veggies but not what I prefer. They do hand pulled noodles table side and instant noodles. We got rice cakes, mushrooms, tofu balls and previously got meat balls and prawn balls. We chose both spicy and mild broths to dip and they were lovely. The spicy broth has many peppercorns which you really gotta watch out as it really numbs the mouth in a bad way if eaten. The dipping station has a good variety and does come as an extra charge. The service is pretty simple as they bring the items and thats pretty much it as you cook all your stuff which is why we take the service charge off. They do offer top ups on the broth. They have a nice selection of desserts. Defo the dough balls with condensed milk. Overall would recommend and would go back for a fun...

@niuhotpot is an authentic chaoshan hotpot place based in Aldgate East. They pride themselves in their fresh beef cuts and they now have a range of halal certified cuts available. I personally loved the chaishan beef hotpot a lot and it’s probably one of the best hotspots l‘ve had in London! I love how they offer fresh beef cut. ➖➖ You can select from various cuts of beef! I tried the 吊龍,脖仁,五花趾and 三花趾. Different cut offers different textures which tastes really good. Love their 爆漿牛肉丸, it was very juicy and al dente. Very authentic kind of Chinese handmade beef balls. ➖➖ Please note that the self-service dipping is mandatory and incurs an additional cost of £2.8 per person, which is a bit pricey. I really enjoyed the fresh beef offered by Niu hotpot. ➖➖ Address: Ground Floor, 43 Commercial St, London E1 6BD, United Kingdom ➖➖ [Invite] Price:£60 pp (12.5% Discretionary service charge) Yum:4/5 Good...
