We had booked a table on a Monday for 2:30pm, we called ahead to ask if they close at 3 and they assured us they were open til 10pm and that it was okay to come and was wrong online or we drove felt bad for booking last minute (made sure we called the one on Wentworth). My friend arrived and said we had a table booked and the male server looked at us if we were crazy as it was very quiet (weird but we just found it funny at the time). We ordered the prawn and chive fried dumplings and when they came out they gave us the normal soup ones (no big deal as they still tasted good but we wanted the fried ones as they've been rated good). I ordered the pork rib noodles and she ordered the beef and I received a lot less noodles and soup than she did compared even though they were around or basically the same price. My friend ordered a can of coke and they didn't have any ice as the machine was broke, fair enough but when she opened it to take a sip it tased warm and warm cola tastes bad and leaves a bad taste in your mouth, he was unhelpful and didn't even want to hear it and said she's opened it and it's her problem, he later brought another can of coke with a big attitude. I pointed on the menu and asked for the jasmine tea that had 500ml in brackets in the cold drink section and he still gave me the hot one i’m the tea pot not the biggest deal as i like tea anyways but would’ve rather had a cold drink. We both work in customer service/hospitality and think if you're charging an £8 service charge on a £60 meal it's not hard to be nice. It got to 3pm and the workers basically swarming the table wanting us to leave which is fine but they could've said they close at 3pm by the way but strange as we called ahead to confirm. Honestly the food overall was good but the service ruined it with the experiences combined and would not go back because of it. (In the picture you can see the difference in our soup line and I did think to myself i only got a few mouthful of noodles)

Delicious meal at YEYE, their pan fried dumpling (shengjianbao) are really really delicious, I like the sweetness of the soup inside, taste very similar to the ones in Shanghai! I was so sad to see that they’ve changed their menus and didn’t have the scallion noodles anymore! The pig ears were yummy and crunchy, slightly too much soy in the sauce for me so I added some black vinegar ;) the noodles were very chewy and enjoyable, can definitely taste that they’re homemade! The broth was lacking a bit of flavour for me but my partner enjoyed it. And finally the salt and pepper squid were really good, full of flavour and crunchy - would’ve looooved having a sweet Chili dipping sauce to cut the fattiness a bit cause it was kinda heavy after a couple of these 😂 but otherwise really great place, definitely recommend!

Short queue to get in (Friday evening). Full of young western people. They have veggie options but you wouldn't come here if you are vegetarian; their specialties are all meat-heavy. Plus there is a vegan restaurant next door and one opposite. Having said that, the peanuts and picked (Asian) radish were really good! This is one of those rare restaurants where the drinks arrive after the food. Btw the rice wine is probably authentic Chinese, so fair enough, but don't assume it's going to be smooth... think more like moonshine or cigarette lighter fluid, not sake. Great tiling in the loo, that was my favourite thing about here! I came here cos of the hype, it was ok, but there are so many other restaurants in the area so I wouldn't come again.

I've been living in this neighbourhood for half a year now, and one day I decided to try the most popular Chinese restaurant around here. I fell in love with it instantly. I brought my whole family there—my wife, my sister, and my kids. We used to eat at the one near Liverpool Street Station, and the experience was always great. The staff there are always friendly, experienced, and polite, and they’re consistent. The chefs always serve top-quality dishes. My father has mobility issues, so they always make arrangements for us to sit upstairs or have a male server help my dad downstairs. When we bring the kids, they also make sure there’s a place upstairs for the pram. The food is always fantastic, especially the pan-fried buns. They’re juicy and fresh, just out of the pan! Every time we walk in, the staff greet us warmly, and when we leave, they send us off with a smile. They even tell us to be careful with the pan-fried buns as they’re hot when they’re served. Every visit has been a great experience. However, they don’t accept reservations because the restaurant is so popular and there’s always a queue. They’ve told us that they have another location where reservations are accepted. So, last weekend, for our wedding anniversary, my wife and I went to that new location. It was a completely different experience. First, we had a reservation, but still had to wait outside for a long time. When we finally got in, we were seated at a shared table with other customers. The host at the door was incredibly rude; we’re customers, not enemies. The chefs seemed like they were new, and the food didn’t live up to expectations. We ordered their signature dishes, the beef noodle soup and pan-fried buns, as well as some new dishes. The beef noodle soup had only two small pieces of beef and wilted lettuce with holes in it. I’d asked for no coriander, but they didn’t remove it. The pan-fried buns were completely cold, and the waiter literally threw the dishes on the table in front of us. We were shocked. The servers seemed completely untrained, probably just part-time students. They didn’t even ask us about food allergies when we ordered. The service was far worse than the other location, yet they charged a higher service fee. After that experience, I won’t be going back. I also noticed they were blatantly asking customers for Google reviews, and it felt like their positive reviews were artificially inflated. The other location doesn’t do this. There was also a male curly-haired server shouting at other staff, doing hardly any work himself. I’ve seen him on their Instagram, but it’s baffling that a restaurant would promote such a rude employee. It was a terrible experience for our anniversary, but I still love the original restaurant, and I’ll only go there from now on. I’ll also recommend it to my colleagues and friends, even if it means waiting in line for an hour. Eating there is a pleasure, while this new one was a...

Food great, different than the norm, felt authentic. Service the most rushed I've ever experienced in London: sat at table 10 mins ahead of reservation, waiting for second person to join, aggressively told we had "1 hour to eat". For 2 people even in the busiest restaurants you usually get 1 hour 30 mins, maybe 1 hour 20 at a push plates were cleared too promptly on all tables, as soon as one person looked like they might be finished a server swooped in to clear it, they didn't wait for the other person to finish. Again this is unheard of we had finished our mains and had two dumplings and about a quarter of our drinks left. A different server came up to us and asked if we wanted a take away box for the last two dumplings and proceeded to clear up our cutlery and side plates! Astonished, I asked "Can we finish?!' This was 50 mins in to our 1 hour to eat... the server apologized at the end, but only while starting to clean our table with some of our things still on it... the restaurant WAS NOT FULL at any point during our visit, at most it was half full with plenty of tables spare we felt constantly monitored by the staff, looking to see if we were finished, it made the experience very very rushed

I just don't get it. It's not a speed eating competition. It's not London's finest or busiest restaurant. To whoever is making the staff briskly tell customers have 1 hour only to eat and to remove individual plates when they might or might not be done, get a grip. Relaxed diners are happy diners. I won't be back because of this and...
