The good: Pretty affordable prices overall Chicken wings were amazing and surprisingly huge (it was the wing and the drumette together), the outside coating stayed crispy even after 10 minutes and being sauced up - highly recommend the spicy version Poke bowl was also delicious, nice dressing and generous toppings with lots of salmon - get this over the ramen if you’re not really a fan of noodles The interior was cute and they did make an effort to make it look like a ramen shop Service was great, one of the waiters even chased after us to return an item we left on the table by accident which was very appreciated, thank you for this!
The bad: The chicken karaage was crispy and juicy but was too salty Tonkotsu ramen was ok - the noodles were soft and I wish they cooked them more Al dente or asked us how we’d like them cooked, the slice of pork on top was super thin and they could be more generous but apart from that the broth was nice and creamy. If you aren’t a fan of funky flavours you can ask to leave out the fermented bamboo shoot (Menma) as it’s a strong flavour and acquired taste The toilets need looking after, there is just one unisex cubicle and it was honestly horrendous, there was no toilet paper inside and the bin next to the toilet was overflowing with blue roll since you couldn’t flush this down the toilet. The lock fell off when I was trying to open the door and i had to pick it up and reattach it to the lock to get out.
I’m not sure if I would visit again but if I did, I would opt for the poke bowl...
Read moreI went here given the name, hoping to have a good noodle experience looking at the current review rating. However this was not what I expected. It was a real shame because to make a great ramen requires a number of main points to get right: Noodles Broth Sides Presentation
They did well on the last 3 but the make or break of any ramen is the noodles and sadly the noodles used were some of the worst I've had. To top it off it was over cooked and was soggy as soon as it arrived to me to the point where it was uncomfortable to eat towards the end as they were clumped together .
It was a nice little restaurant with great atmosphere and nice selection of food on offer, i just felt it was a real shame given that noddles is in its name. I would recommend to the restaurant either making the noodles fresh (the best way) or at the very least buy a much higher quality brand that uses better quality flour and also to time how long you boil the noodles to guarantee consistency in noodle strength and rigidity. It should always be bouncy with some give to them. If I was the chef, I don't think I could happily put that out to a customer, especially if you're passionate about ramen making.
Hope you guys take this as constructive criticism and do better from a fellow food critic and Japanese...
Read moreplease do not go here if you have an allergy!!!
I recently went here and asked about their bao buns being egg free, I was told they were fine and even noticed they had a list of allergens for their menu on the wall. great! every place should have this.
however after having a couple bites I felt something off with my food, I was having the starting symptoms I would of a reaction. checked their allergens, yep they all say NO (not may contain, big fat NO). I didn't want confrontation since I'm travelling solo and just wanted to eat, so I ate the rest and left.
definitely had egg in the bao bun, I'm not sensitive to other foods, or have any other allergies. there was an off white sauce I suspect it containing said egg. i wish now I further pushed instead of just eating, paying and suffering for it.
the food was nice, and the place is cute. if you don't have any allergies or intolerances, I recommend it. but if you do, I wouldn't chance it. their allergens must be out of date and...
