I was extremely pleased with your excellent service. The staff I spoke to were very courteous and professional. As a result I will be contacting you again to buy some more gold when finances allow. However I do forward the following comments as constructive criticism:

1. It would greatly improve the provenance and authenticity of gold bars purchased if you made reference to the certificate number on the sales invoice. This is especially important in the event of a resale perhaps to a source other than your self, and presumably it would apply to silver bars as well..

2. The island of Jersey is not part of the UK and therefore is not subject to VAT. Any purchase I have made from other UK companies has always had the VAT of 20% deducted, as any goods despatched are zero rated. The island is VAT exempt. All of the staff I spoke to at your company were adamant that this is not the case. I intended to also buy a 1 kilo silver bar from you, but with potentially 5 % goods and services tax in Jersey after the loading of the VAT there is no incentive to buy any silver from your company for Jersey Islanders.

Note: I say potentially 5% GST because it depends on how diligent the local Customs Department are at spotting the item and examining the contents.

Great service starting from the friendly and efficient service on the phone, and then when I got to the counter in their Hatton Garden branch the service was excellent.

They explained that the approximated value which they gave me was the lowest it would be, and that if I wanted to proceed all the pieces would be re-weighed without the stones, and that the value would be likely to go up.

I took a short while to think about it, then came back in and decidecided to ahead. The jewellery was re-weighed minus the stones and the total value came back at £300 more, as the stones were lighter than expected!

Also I had previously had the gold weighed abroad and one of the rings had been sorted as 9ct gold, when the HG metals member of staff pointed out that it in fact had UK 18ct markings.

A choice of how to receive payment, I opted for cash, but could have had a cheque or bank transfer.
