Mostly fine but even as someone who is 6'4" I can't recommend seeing a standing gig here because the floor is flat and the stage is at most a foot off the ground. I was at the back and I could barely see the heads of the performers. Maybe I got unlucky and the audience was particularly tall that night? Also, the comment from the owner on another review about the prices on drinks not increasing like other venues made me laugh, it's still £7 a pint?

Came here for a drink during the afternoon, I KNOW I didn't go during the evening or when a band was playing but chatting to other people there I've heard it gets very busy and packed. The lady behind the bar was brilliant, friendly, helpful and informative. The venue is very cool. Great choice of drinks at reasonable prices. Really liked the place and would go again, especially if they've got live music.

OTC has a great atmosphere with a small bar and a relaxed lounge with antique furniture. It's the only live music venue in Herne Hill and there are usually live bands almost every night. If you've had enough of the venues in Brixton, it's just around the corner.

The comedy nights are excellent however the venue has ongoing problems that the owners are clearly not interested in addressing. After traversing the sodden artificial grass to enter the venue things started to go downhill. The toilets are dark and filthy with defective lighting. There is an infestation of flies and the place absolutely stinks to high heaven. There was a strong aroma of disinfectant as we walked in the entrance. This smell would have been much better in the filthy unkempt toilets than around the bar area. The event room was dark and filthy with an unswept floor, fly papers hanging from the ceiling and a discarded coffee cup which looked as if it was already evolving its own personal ecosystem. All this however, pales into significance when compared to the overwhelming stench wafting through the room. The aroma consists of a background smell of stagnant pond water and a smell which moves around the room which is reminiscent of a rat dragging its dead friend around the room by its tail. As much as the comedy night was a success I will not subject myself to the sensory overload caused by basic bad hygiene...

I came here for an event that was totally packed out. It’s an interesting venue, visually very quirky and it had a great vibe. However, I think it would be much better if it were built to accommodate as many people as were there when I visited. The queue for the bathroom was so long I had to visit the pub across the road, you could barely move for all of the armchairs and people around them, and - unrelated to the volume of visitors - the smell of old socks that permeated the place lasted with me for the whole tube ride home. If a band who I really liked were playing I’d probably go back - but I wouldn’t visit again unless I...

Off The Cuff have started providing a band rehearsal space, which we used the other day for the first time. I rehearsed a five-piece band in there for four hours and it was a great experience, for me far superior to using any rehearsal studio. You get the entire live room, PA, mics amps and kit and, if needed, a multitrack recording thrown in, all for a very reasonable price. Personally, the extra space was the main thing for me and this also translated into nice, clear sound with almost nothing in the nature of feedback. I felt like I was able to think straight in a full band rehearsal for the first time in years. Highly...
