I walked into this so-called “Turkish restaurant café” expecting to enjoy an authentic, heartwarming meal… instead, I walked straight into a daylight robbery disguised as hospitality. The prices were nothing short of extortionate, the food a complete insult to my taste buds, and the experience a masterclass in how to fleece a customer while smiling to their face.
At first, I didn’t notice the strange atmosphere — but after an unreasonably long wait for my food, it became clear that the entire place was basically a private family living room for the owner’s relatives. Every table around me was occupied by a cousin, uncle, or in-law, casually eating, chatting, and giving the occasional dismissive glance toward paying customers like me — the real cash cows funding their family gathering.
When my food finally arrived, it was cold, lifeless, and looked like it had been reheated from last week’s leftovers. I had to request it to be remade, but even then it still came out bland, joyless, and lacking the freshness you’d expect from any restaurant. I was starving, so I begrudgingly ate what was in front of me, but every bite felt like a reminder that I had no choice but to pay full price for something I wouldn’t even serve to a neighbour’s cat.
The final insult? A so-called “Turkish-style pizza” (pide) costing over £10 for a measly single-person portion — a price tag that would be ambitious even for fine dining, let alone for this tasteless, limp slab of dough. This wasn’t just a bad meal. This was a full-scale culinary scam.
I left not only hungry for real food, but with the bitter aftertaste of knowing I had just been mugged...
Read moreMy mum and dad recommend this place to us. They've been visiting here for a while now. It's a tiny little place and is tucked around the corner off the main road. It opens early morning and closes at 5pm. The menu is huge and everything I've had and that he family have had has been excellent. Large portions And very reasonably priced. The staff are excellent, very attentive polite and good with kids. If you want a quick lunch or breakfast I certainly word recommend this place to you. The local police all pop in for breakfast here, as you always see their cars outside. One more thing, they do have a drinks licence so you can have a boozy drink with your lunch if...
Read moreThe Best Bistro in Enfield Chase, Great little menu, I recommend The Bacon ½ Pounder, The Sunshine Breakfast And I Highly Recommend The Mixed Chicken & Lamb Kabab with rice and an Effe's Beer, everything on the menu is reasonably priced, It's clean, the staff are friendly, service is good and your order is always well presented, The only drawback being depending on the time you arrive you might have to wait for a seat, no longer then 10mins if you go at lunchtime, I've traveled so have learnt that's a surefire sign that the wait will be worth it, wherever I've eaten in the world you know if the place is packed with locals you ain't gonna go to far...
