Ozwald Copplepot; Villainously Good Coffee — Restaurant in London

Hands down the best coffee shop around! I love this place literally everything about it. So much thought and detail has gone into making this more that just a coffee shop it's so impressive and exciting that it's hard not to go in if you are walking by. Ozwald Copplepot; VGC goes above and beyond expectations and I'm talking more than the aesthetics (that are just on point BTW) If you've been here you know it's special. Been coming here for a while now and everything on the menu is out of this world. You don't get served any old hot drink and even in the height of rush hour you can expect a perfectly crafted delight that will leave you wanting to come back for more. Currently drinking the creamiest peanut butter hot chocolate EVER that these guys now have me addicted to and I genuinely feel as if I'm cheating on it by giving my phone so much attention haha. The staff are very friendly polite and engaging which feels rare to come by these days but again even when the lunch time rush has queues out the door these guys have the heart to smile and welcome you checking in on how you are, with everything they offer its easy to see why they have such a loyal following. If anyone is reading this review considering trying it out just stop reading and do it my review may not give all the credit this place deserves but I can promise that you will not be let down by any aspect of your experience here. Oswald Cobblepot’s window design sets the mood for the Gotham themed coffee shop as the Scarecrow lays wait on their window alluring any intrigued bystander in as it did for me on my first visit. The theme and design is exquisite once stepping foot inside with upside down umbrellas hanging from the ceiling and love heart teaspoons in the sugar jars. Every detail is relative and aesthetically pleasing which just brings the whole shop together. I was expecting coffee like Costa or Nero due to all my previous attempts at drinking coffee in this country but I was happily proven wrong by the baristas. To date this is the BEST coffee I have had in London. The beans they use are from Allpress Esspresso which is a New Zealand bean company and this slight difference between Oswald’s and other coffee shops genuinely makes the difference. I highly recommend at least coming here once as you’ll never want to leave after sitting in their store and drinking their coffee with a Anzac biscuit, brownie or pastry. How has this place got so many reviews and in such short time only the owner might know 🤔 As someone who travels from Gunnersbury station often I was happy to find a coffee shop near by as there isn't many around the station. Unfortunately the only time I went there my coffee was burned and I couldn't finish it. As for the food I had an almond croissant but it must have been from the day before as it was hard and dry.

The service is okay and interior is what it is: you either love it or hate it. To me it looks like they couldn't decide on one theme and went for a bit of everything. Maybe I was just unlucky and got served both; bad coffee and yesterday's food. But for a 5 star place which apparently does the best coffee in the world (as some reviewers claim) I would at least expect my drink to be okay.

Not sure how this place got 5 stars on here. The Coffee Traveller that I often go to is incomparably better...
