I’d like to give 3.5 stars but that’s not an option so I’m rounding up but it could go either way. Panzer’s Deli has changed a lot over the years. They renovated and created outdoor seating, a few indoor seats and the biggest change is a sushi bar. It’s very popular and there are about four squeezed in stools so it’s not easy to eat next to someone as you’ll be elbowing each other while using chopsticks. They have some already made sushi in the deli fridge but you can always have them make it fresh. You tell them what you want, they create a ticket with price for you to give to the cashier in the back, you pay then hand over your receipt to get your food. Not the most efficient way of doing things as some sushi chefs forget to get the receipt and hand over the food. The rest of the deli area has some typical NY Jewish deli food like chopped liver, smoked salmon, cream cheese, sour pickles, and freshly baked bagels. There are also other deli items that were popular like focaccia. Around the back cash register they serve coffee. The area is very tight and crowded so it’s not easy to get around. The rest of the store is small and aisles are tight but they did a great job packing in as much as possible. They have some imported American treats like cake mixes, cereal, Goldfish crackers and a few candy items. Cereal is very overpriced and the Tootsie rolls were stale so I’m not sure if the American expat community now is as big as it once was. I wasn’t a fan of the bagel I had but they have a lot of them. They also have fresh rye and sourdough bread as well as baguettes and other types of bread. Not the most sanitary as I did not see one person use tongs. I loved the blueberries I got at Panzer’s but they did not list a country of origin. The smoked salmon was amazing and is sliced for Panzer’s. This is a specialty grocer so not the right place for regular food shopping but great for certain items. Just be prepared for high prices.

Wow! I'm an American whose family is native to NYC and I was really really impressed by this place. Genuinely the first good kosher dill pickles I've had in London- the "new green" pickles are excellent if you're missing them. Not a bit of sugar to be found and a delicious garlicky vinegar taste. The bagels are quite good too! Definitely the best I've had in London. I was really impressed by the selection of American products - there were quite a few things I haven't seen elsewhere, including pimento cheese! 😍 it tastes just right. You don't see southern products here almost ever so I was delighted to see it! The shop had a ton of fun stuff from all over the world - Israel, Russia, the US, Mexico (definitely leaning American-Mexican), Italy, Korea, Japan...huge variety. Also an amazing produce section with a huge selection of mushrooms, garnishes like shoots and flowers, and other exotic fruits and veggies not commonly seen elsewhere. Overall really great shop, I'll definitely be back!!

It was a joy to visit Panzer’s deli - there are so many unique products there and as an American a lot of things I can’t find anywhere else in shops in the UK. I think the prices were a bit high but for Valentina hot sauce, and the Mexican section not too bad! The bagels and baked goods all looked really good. I loved the everything bagel. We got a smoked salmon and cream cheese and a salt beef both freshly made. The salmon bagel (£7.25) had a lot of salmon and a lot of cream cheese so it was a bit much for me but if you like a lot of toppings this is your place. The salt beef bagel (£9) was good and we have no complaints. But it wasn’t quite as flavourful as London’s most famous one (Beigel Bake). The coffee was surprisingly good, and would definitely go back for that, and I want to try a lot of other things: the sushi, the salads and picnic foods, maybe a ready meal.

Rotten pickles - no refund.

I shop pretty regularly at Panzer's, largely to buy a weekly stock of salmon, cream cheese, taramasalata, dill pickles, and fruit and veg. It's all over-priced but the salmon and cream cheese is delicious (steer clear of the bagels). Roughly a week ago, I bought a jar of pickles as my children love them as lock-down snacks. They told me the pickles tasted funny so I tried one and I agreed. They were definitely off. I took them back and explained the situation. The manager was called and I explained the situation. He agreed that they weren't out of date as they should have been fine until February 16th, at which point I told him there was definitely something wrong. They were off. He said 'But they're open' to which I replied 'Well how am I supposed to know they're off if I don't open them to taste them?.' The then asked for a receipt. I asked, 'Do you know anybody who keeps receipts for dill pickles? I didn't expect for them to go off and during COVID I sometimes don't take a receipt at all.' Re responded that there was nothing he could do. In the grand scheme of things, with the money I spend there, I would have thought he could have exchanged them. I'll buy them off...

A middle-aged bespectacled saleswoman has an unpleasant service attitude, which is sarcastic and discriminatory. The cherries I bought had already been weighed by one of her male colleagues, and she weighed them again, not knowing why the amount she weighed had increased, and not telling me why. Because her attitude made me uncomfortable, so I told her I didn't want the cherries. After I finished buying the order, she actually laughed at me in front of my face and whispered to her colleagues when I didn't leave. Elsewhere, there is a market in pimlico where the quality of vegetables and fruits they serve is top notch, even most of the same as this supermarket. The same thing is much cheaper in the market, and both the boss and the wife are very kind and honest. I look forward to shopping with her every week. I can understand that this supermarket has been open for nearly 80 years. They are a physical and fixed store, and their sales cost is higher, so I can accept that the goods are more expensive. However, some of the service staff they hired were obviously unable to keep up with the quality and literacy of this high-end supermarket, and lacked respect and integrity...
