I’m writing to share my recent disappointing experience at your café. The level of service was well below what’s expected, especially in a place that holds a respected position in the community.
When my child accidentally spilled some water on the table, staff curtly told us to get the blue roll and clean it ourselves. This was not only unhelpful, but also quite rude. Basic courtesy and assistance should be a given in any hospitality setting.
Additionally, I overheard staff complaining that customers “use too many sauces,” which felt unprofessional and unwelcoming. Guests should not feel like a burden for simply making use of what’s available.
The menu is also very limited and would benefit from more variety, especially if you want to cater to a wider range of tastes and dietary needs.
I strongly urge you to invest in proper staff training to ensure at least basic service standards are consistently met. Kindness, respect, and attentiveness go a long way—and are currently lacking.
Thank you for taking this...

The staff are friendly & efficient, the food is decent cafe fare with large portions & competitively priced (FYI: we usually have baked Potatoes, toasted sandwiches/ciabattas, soup or omelettes). The coffee is also good (which helps us survive our afternoon at work). Usually plenty of room inside or out (in the better months!) it never feels too cramped. Unfortunately toilets in the cafe are only for the disabled or people with children, & you have to ask for a key, but clean public loos are found only a...
