I live quite close and have been a number of times. However, I had a really poor experience today at Peppermint and will not be going back.

Along with my food, I ordered their Banana, Mango and Orange smoothie. When it arrived I drank some of it and could taste absolutely nothing except banana. I really do mean nothing, not even a hint of either orange or mango. I politely told the waitress this when she brought our food and asked if she could bring the smoothie back to the kitchen and have some 'extra' mango and orange added.

When she returned a few minutes later the smoothie tasted exactly the same. There was absolutely no mango or orange in it. It had simply been topped up with more of the exact same. I again politely made this point to the waitress. She gave me a very unconvincing explanation that banana is a very strong taste and it must be over powering the other fruits.

I felt it was getting awkward and didn't want to embarrass her so I just nodded and left it at that. But I felt sure they wouldn't charge me for the smoothie. I was shocked to see it on the bill when it arrived.

Their smoothies are not cheap and I think it is very poor practice to cut corners like this and leave the waiting staff to come up with weak excuses. I understand that eating out is not cheap and I don't mind paying but I expect to get a fair deal. £24 for two paninis and a terrible smoothie is not value for money. This experience was very disappointing and left me feeling that customer satisfaction is not a priority. There are plenty of other options in Maida Vale and I will not be a customer at...

This fresh looking cafe located at the top end of Elgin Ave has an inviting appeal to it. The decor/colour scheme is tasteful and it seems to be a great place for meeting friends or to fire up you laptop for a bit of working away from home.

However as with most places there's usually room for improvement and this place is no different. For me the big issue, which just so happens why I only gave it 3ā˜…, was the coffee served. The test for any cafe is how well they manage to pull an Espresso and if it tastes like a watered down Americano, well then they need to do better. I mean it's not difficult to lure me away from the Starbucks around the corner, but if your coffee is not much better or dare I say just as bad or worse, then you aren't likely to gain me as a regular.

The other thing that would have been nice to see are some more charging points to plug your Laptop in, especially at that dreaded moment when the battery is about to die when you most need it.

To sum it up a very pleasant place with a fresh air to it which I am likely to give another try. I just hope they can focus a little more on making great coffee, after all it's what some people still go...

It’s Sunday the 19th of August 12:17 pm, the blondish/browned hair lady serving at the tables is the rudest waitress ever. I sat for 5 minutes waiting, The place was quiet, and I wasn’t even acknowledged. I had to sit up and get my menu by myself which I wouldn’t have done if she at least would have looked at me even once to let me know ā€œI know you’re thereā€.

I waited and waited. A man, probably out of frustration got to the bar asking if he had to order there. She said to him in a very rude manner ā€œno! You can sit down and wait, I’ll come to you, I have other people before you, you know?ā€

That was so rude! I felt for the guy.

He obviously walked out.

As for me, i stayed waiting, she finally came, no smile, no nothing. Just took the order and walked away. I don’t mind waiting if a place is busy. This was not. However i think she could have just acknowledged me even once and I would have known I was welcome. I will...

Overpriced and underwhelming. I should have checked the pictures on Google before coming here. I echo many of the previous comments. It is expensive for what it is. I had the three egg "omelette," which was the saddest broken, flat omelette I have ever seen and it cost ᅯ11. Quite frankly, I'd be upset with myself if I had made that in a rush before work. My wife had the shakshouka, which was well presented, but it was one poached egg on sauce with toast for ᅯ12.50. I'm glad I didn't get the traditional english breakfast for ᅯ17. Why would I when I can go to Bill's and get something far more satifying for £14. The food should all be priced royghly ᅯ3-5 cheaper to set cuatomer expectations at an appropriate level. The service ok and it is otherwise a nice place. I will not come here again because I have a sour memory of the place now. To others thinking about coming here, I would not recommend it for breakfast/brunch.

Great for a quick lunch! Very friendly and generous staff, offered me an extra meatball when I told them I didn't want the sweet potato mash which normally comes with my meal (see pictures). In total, my main and "Apple, Orange, Carrot and Mint juice" came to £15. I feel it is fairly priced given the fast & friendly service combined with the location (right by Maida Vale station). I would feel comfortable bringing my kids here, there are tables by the side with comfortable seating. There are a few tables outside which are nice too. Food quality wise, the salad was fresh and the meatballs nicely warmed up. Personally I felt that the salad could have used a little more seasoning and the meatballs were a little peppery. By all means it was enjoyable, just not the best I've had. There is WiFi available at the café.
